  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. A Break Away in Comfort

We chose this property because of all the amenities it provided to our families. It did not disappoint. Everyone had their own bed, bath and TV. The game room and the movie theater were a bonus and enjoyed by all! The house was immaculate, modern, comfortable, and had a beautiful ocean view. All of this made relaxing during our break easy and enjoyable!

Unfortunately there were a multitude of issues with the home itself. We meticulously made a list of the issues and sent that to the management company. A few of the issues were very concerning (mold) in the home. We were able to resolve some of the issues because my husband and son are in the property management business. With my son and husband able to resolve some of the issues we were able to have an amazing time. My hope is that the management company will take heed to our list and address these issues. I can’t say that I would read from this company again though.
