  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Memories

Overall our stay was fantastic. The property was extremely easy to navigate. The updated deck walk ways to get to the pool and beach was nice. Made pulling a wagon very easy. Our kids really enjoyed playing trivia while swimming. My only complaint is they are not golf cart charging friendly. If you are lucky enough to book a unit that has a plug outside that is close to a parking spot you are fine. We did not, and was basically told we our out of luck to charge a golf cart on property.

Location of the unit is great. Easy access to pool and beach. Parking was very easy to find a spot

Check in was very easy. Paid for early check in and we were delayed. Kitchen needs to be updated.

Craziest and Owners Cheap

Well call on day of checkin and they said checkin is at 4 pm. 4 pm came and gone and Sun Realty said they are completing inspections now but we went to condo and no one was there. Finally got code. The laundry room about fell. Pictures of that will be attached. Got up next morning to fix breakfast and sink handle fell off. Great inspection. Guy came a few hours later and said needed to get approval from Sun Reality for faucet. Finally came back with a cheap faucet and got that on and took out sink sprayer. Imagine trying to fix meals with all that going on. Ask for first day refund but Sun Reality said had to wait for owner approval. Worse place we have ever stayed at.
