With unobstructed ocean views, this classic Outer Banks cottage is just for you. Newly remodeled in 2015 with vaulted ceiling, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. This charmer brings back the old days of family trips to the beach and just for the beach! With unmatched ocean views, from the sun deck, the hours will pass by slowly as you are drifted away by the tranquil waves splashing on the awaiting beach.

THE BEACH BARN is the home for those seeking a quiet week of fun in the sun, reading a good book and spending time with loved ones.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This beach house is literally on the beach. The waves put you to sleep at night. It’s the perfect ocean get away. I must say that we ended up paying almost twice as much as we would have if we booked directly with the rental company. But it was worth it to have found the place through Expedia/ VRBO

Couldn't Be Better!

We loved this house! The location and views are absolutely unbeatable. The living space was both cozy yet spacious and there is plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and enjoy the incredible ocean views. We loved falling asleep to the sound of waves every night and spending every day enjoying the beach and that beautiful deck. Some notes: The one bathroom would be tight for a family but just for my wife and I it was absolutely perfect. I also highly recommend *not* booking through VRBO and going through the rental company Caroline Shores -- it'll save you hundreds of dollars. Can't recommend the house enough!

Everything We Expected

Great views, nice lighting, nice frig/freezer, other properties not too close, easy to watch the kids play on the beach from the porch, big table for dinner, cool board room so we didn’t track dirt throughout the house, comfortable furniture, mounted fans, wash/dryer combo worked great too! Would recommend!!
