Berry nice

Our stay was great! The proximity to the beach was awesome, it was so nice being that close. The kitchen had every dish, pot, pan, appliance, utensil you could ask for!! The bedrooms and bathrooms were great too. As the week went in the outside temperature did go up and when that happened the air conditioners in the house struggled/failed to be able to keep the house cool. For example we had the thermostat set at 70 and the house got up to 76 and did not lower until the middle of the night when we were sleeping. The only other thing that would be nice is a couch that doesn’t break apart in sections when multiple people sit on it. But having said all of that if we venture back to Duck I would definitely consider staying here again!

Review of SA8-Berry, Sanderling

SA8, Berry is located in Sanderling, a private and well-established community in Duck- this allows for a very quiet stay with no beach crowds and access to the pool and tennis courts at the Sanderling Inn. The home is conveniently located right across the street from the nearest beach access, which is wonderful. We rented this home because dogs are welcome, so in that regard the home fit our need. That said, the home needs a serious deep cleaning. Carpeting on both levels is stained in multiple locations and there are many strange marks all over the ceiling in the upper level that look like flies/insects were swatted & killed but never cleaned off. It's very strange, and because it's so noticeable (they're all over), it certainly leads one to wonder "if I can see this, what dirt is here that I can't see?". In at least one of the bathroom showers, the bottom of the sliding shower doors was filthy. Finally, the home is extremely dated and is in need of a refresh. For a family that just wants to bring a dog along and spend all their time on the beach with no fancy frills, then SA-8 Berry will fill that role. However, if you're a frequent visitor to the Duck/Corolla area and have rented multiple homes recently over the years, you most likely will not find this home at those standards.
