Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The accommodation was within a good walking distance to Nishiki market and other tourist destinations in addition to public transport. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for 4 people.
Checking in and out was easy, conveniently close to many things like the subway, restaurants and Nishiki. Great amenities in the room and spacious, would definitely recommend it!
The guest house is in a good central location for Kyoto, an easy walk from where the two metro lines intersect. Unit is set up decently, with small cooking area with fridge/freezer, microwave and electric cooktop. We didn't do any cooking so can't comment on the kitchen set up other than the fridge/freezer was fine. Room was one of the smaller units, fine for 2 people. Most of the pictures on the website are of larger units. Our unit did not have a sofa, just 2 beds and 2 dining chairs for the small table. It is important to know that the guest house is actually multiple units spread around a large 11 story residential unit. There happened to be 2 units on the floor we were on. It is critical to carefully read the instructions you get for getting into the unit. At least when we were there, the pictured entrance was not to be used and one had to find a set of mailboxes in a parking garage to get the key to get into the elevator and into the unit. The combination to the mailbox is 3 numbers, but not a typical clockwise, counter-clockwise, clockwise action. Took us a while after a long trans-Pacific flight. We had no issues, stayed a week and had absolutely no interaction with anyone associated with the guest house during our time. Google Translate important for operating water heater, etc. The video doorbell at the elevator entrance connects to all the residences in the building, not the guest house. Cleanliness was typical Japanese, with decent towels, tolietries, etc.
