We had a great stay at the Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo Karasuma. Staff was wonderful and rooms were very clean and roomier than the hotel we had in Tokyo. One room unfortunately had zero view out the window - the glass was even opaque. The amenities were very nice and the hotel was spotless and nicely decorated.

Room and bathroom was very clean and very big for Japan standards. Bed was comfortable. I appreciated all the outlets and storage space. Lobby has free coffee, tea, sake, ice, water. The bathroom had a bad smell, I’m guessing it’s from the pipes? Told hotel staff and they were friendly and helpful - but their solution didn’t fix the smell. Room was decent, relatively clean but cleaning services only did partial cleaning. Loved that there was a Starbucks within a block. The buffet breakfast was delicious!

A beautiful modern hotel. We loved the provision of a microwave and washer/dryer in our room - it made it very easy to keep on top of our washing and also eat in if we were tired after a long day. Staff were always very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was delicious with Japanese and Western options.
