We truly enjoyed our stay. The home is wonderful and spacious. The backyard is a peaceful and private area with the river running around cabin. Husband had fun catching trout from the river. We have stayed in several Cuchara rentals and this one definitely at the top of our list!

This makes the third time we have stayed here since last August…and we already have a month long stay booked for this Fall. We’ve fallen in love with this property and it never disappoints. The scenery is beautiful, the cabin is fantastic, and Ray (the owner) is incredibly responsive and helpful. Definitely our favorite place to stay and well worth the trip from Texas!

My mom and son and I stayed here last summer and when my in-laws saw the pictures and heard us talking about how wonderful it was, they just had to go to so we booked a Spring Break trip With them. We just returned from this trip and they were not disappointed! If anything, this trip was even more magical thanks to the heavy gorgeous snowfall during our stay.

We had a fantastic time at Casa Los Rios! We needed some good R&R and this was totally what we needed! Spring in Colorado can be crazy and we got all the weather - snow, grapple, rain , sin & mud, but there was still plenty to see and do. (including naps after outdoor time!) Everything we needed was at the house and plenty of space for meals and playing cards at night. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We'd love to come back when we can enjoy the firepit and listening to the river outdoors for longer!

The house on the river is a fantastic location with water surrounding the home and walkable to town. We enjoyed hanging out and relaxing on the patio and listening to the rushing river. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is very well equipped. Wifi was not good at all and TV was not enjoyed due to the internet service. The home needs a deep cleaning to make it really comfortable.

Enjoyed the layout of the home. Really enjoyed the kitchen. Loved the river running around the property. The water was so relaxing! Beds were very comfortable. We had no problem staying comfortable with the temps there. Heating worked well for us. We did not use the fireplace, but the area was dirty and looked liked the last people didn't clean it out. Issues: desperately needs a deep deep cleaning and an inventory done on restocking item (especially the kitchen). Carpets, floors, windows, some furniture, oven, refrigerator (especially freezer) and fireplace are dirty and some areas were pretty nasty. We had to wash the dishes before we could use them. The book they leave you on the table about the house really needs to be updated and more things explained about how to operate different items in the house: light switches & remotes, ice maker (we never could get it to work), where to put the trash when we checked out, there are two keys in this book, but we didn’t know what the were for, were we suppose to use them or not? If they have someone taking care of this home for them, they need to find someone else. Reached out to the owner twice via the website, but never received a response. After renting the property we were given a contact. This contact was very helpful and quickly responded to any questions we had. It would be a pretty nice place if these issued were addressed.

This property is conveniently located with a running stream completely surrounding the property & grounds. The beds & furniture are comfy. The outdoor living spaces are wonderful. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with all high end appliances. The place itself is amazing, but we could not get the jacuzzi tub to work and, as someone has stated previously, it really needs a deep clean. C. Autrey

Very nice place. River running through property but it snowed and covered it. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, beautiful kitchen for our Thanksgiving dinner. Beds were very comfy. The views out all the windows are amazing. A few things there is no central heat like it says so we were not prepared for it to be 43 degrees when we walked in. The fire place & wall heater took 3 hours to heat house with 2 plug in heater. Main heating is the fire place & you need to get up several times at night to add wood. Refrigerator needed to be cleaned out/wiped. Otherwise a great time was had and great memories. May try it again in warmer weather.

We LOVED our stay at this cabin! The River wrapping around the property was so cool. We also loved cooking in the amazing kitchen. Owner was so nice and easy to get ahold of! We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the sound of the creek running around the cabin on all sides. It was interesting crossing a bridge to get to the front door and to get to the outside sitting area in the back. The arrangement and door openings of the rooms took a little getting used to, but that was probably due to the property previously being a restaurant before the extensive remodel. The kitchen was huge with more than everything you would need. The microwave as a drawer was a new experience; I never saw one like it before. The enormous fireplace and great room made me feel like I was in the ranch house in the movie "Giant". The wood stove inset into the fireplace made it possible to have a fire with small logs, instead of logs the length of trees. We enjoyed sitting under the canopy outside in the back and reading. The only drawback was the shower/tub in the main bedroom. It is apparently a huge jacuzzi/soak tub with really tall sides to try to get into. And the shower wasn't very useful because adjusting the water temp took at least 30 seconds in between every adjustment before the new temp could be felt. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere at the cabin.

Loved this property and will definitely rent again! We loved how the stream surrounded the entire property! Only disappointing point was the patio, grass, weeds and bushes looked like they have not been maintained in a long time - very overgrown and hard to see stream.

Our stay far exceeded our expectations and hopes. The home is beautiful and cozy, surrounded by a beautiful babbling stream and nestled in the mountains, directly on the Highway of Legends, a beautiful scenic drive. There are many trails for hiking and exploring in the immediate vicinity. There was a bear who made regular midnight visits to the property - our first time to see one in the wild and definitely a highlight of the trip. We made so many special memories and are already looking at dates, trying to decide when we can come back.

When we got to this cabin we were immediately taken in by the charm of the location and river running through property. Inside, the place was very clean, tidy with a spacious living and dining area for gathering. We did a lot of food prep/cooking in the wonderful kitchen with state of the art appliances and well equipped kitchen. Only recommendation would be some sharper knives, there is a set there but they are mostly serrated. Bedrooms were very comfy but No closet space which was not an issue for us. We loved hiking the spring creek trail, Dikes trail, and you must travel the scenic hwy 12 to Northlake and Monument Lake then Stonewall. We had a group of 5 and we loved our stay at this cabin. With heat waves all over the country, you can’t beat this to escape the high temps- it was only as high as low 80s during the day - in mid July!
