Beautiful place for relaxing getaway

We loved it as soon as we arrived, and will definitely return. The place had everyone we needed, the natural pool and gardens were beautiful - perfect to wind down after a morning at the beach (20 min walk along the fisherman cliff walk overlooking the sea). Friendly hosts, and friendly dogs too!

A wonderful quiet tranquile villa with stunning views of farmland and the sea.

One of the best holiday villas we have stayed at. Ideal for a couple who want a complete rest. Easy access to the coastal cliff path with views and walks to the west and east.. The garden and the veranda points south so wonderful for outdoor eating.

Perfect Unwind

We have stayed several times in Lagos but this was the perfect place for us. The property is just outside Lagos but beaches town and supermarkets are all about aten minute drive away. The setting is very peaceful and quiet so ideal for relaxing outside and looking out at the wonderful views. If you are feeling active you can quickly access the coastal path and walk to the beach. Simon and Ana Maria are wonderful hosts and ensure you have all you need. We look forward to our next stay there Annette and Gerry

House im the garden

the place is charming, full of surrounding vegetation, a lake with frogs and singing birds under the window. beautiful beaches and restaurants within walking distance. If you are looking for a place away from hotels and the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect choice

The views and gardens of Villa Pocilgo are wonderful, we had a great time there! The villa is equipped with everything you need and the sight of the ocean behind the lush green fields and trees is breathtaking. Our host, Ana Maria, was very kind and made us feel welcome at her home. We would love to visit again in the future!

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful month stay. The outdoor area is like your own oasis with the pond, beautiful trees, and a view of the ocean. Simon & Jane could not have been more helpful! Simon even drove us to a car rental pickup when we had car issues. Hopefully we’ll make it back again!

Relaxing

A place like the small Gallic village of Asterix and Obelix

Approaching the property through streets lined with golf estate villas and manicured front gardens, you finally arrive at this former farmhouse with a beautiful garden in perfect tranquillity. The two rental units are appropriately furnished in country house style and the living space extends perfectly onto the terrace, with plenty of space and a well-maintained outdoor barbecue. On top of that, the hosts are very nice. For us, this place made up for some of the annoying feelings about the hustle and bustle of Lagos.

Perfect to get away

The house is ideal for a couple, or with younger children. It is a fantastic hide away and very quiet. Beautiful landscape with an abundance of wild life. The hosts are readily available, and always make sure you are comfortable. Location to west algarve and Lagos is excellent. Great walks, great beaches and lovely garden to relax in. Bit cold for the pool in Jan/Feb, but that's not why we booked this wonderful property!

Winter break

The house is perfect for a couple, wouldn’t have changed anything. The garden is beautiful and leads to the cliff tops with lovely walks east and west. With orchids and birds in the garden it was perfect for the naturalist in me to enjoy. Simon was helpful and friendly. Just a really lovey time for us both.

Idyllic, quiet clifftop villa

We spent a week here in May - mostly used the villa as a base for taking day trips throughout the Algarve. Really we wished we'd had more time to spend just lounging by the pond and among the flowers. The villa is just a 7 minute walk away from a clifftop trail, making for excellent morning walks or runs. The house is a well preserved traditional farmhouse. We found the hot water to be a bit unreliable, but really enjoyed our time there. Very helpful, friendly owners! Would definitely come back or recommend to friends.

Great place for a family vacation

Although a little aged, villa turned out to be cosy and quite comfortable for a 2+2 family. The biggest problem we had was to set the right water temperature under the shower, because of some malfunction in gas water heater. The garden is lovely and spacious. We used biological pool every day. It’s not as good as classic pool, but children loved to swim in it. The farm is located beside the cliffs and there are some great paths for walking. All in all we spent a great time in Quinta Falesia.

A Magical Paradise at the age of the cliffs of Atlantic

After long travel from Barcelona we arrived in the dark night, so we couldn't see of the surrounding (but, could feel it) the little house already warmed our heart. And then... We woke up and seen the natural magic of the land. The view, sound and the feeling!!! Priceless The owners are very helpful and always ready for your needs. Although we got sick after the 2nd day, we couldn't imagine better place to pass this period of time. We are very glad to get a little part of this magical, Magical paradise. Thx to Jane, Simon and Ana for sharing their authentic Portugal Quinta with us. Well Recommended to disconnect from the robotic lifestyle. We definitely will be back!

Amazing

We have stayed at Vila Pocilgo for 7 nights. Having two small boys (4yrs and 10 months) we always have to choose our vacations house very carefully. The time spent there was just perfect. It is very close to Lagos centre and also from the beach taking only 5 minutes to reach both. The house owner is extremely friendly and always ready to give all those pointers on what to see getting away from those tourists traps restaurants and tours. Do not expect a five star hotel because the property is all about running away from those stereotypes. It’s quite comfortable, well equipped also with air-condition and satellite TV also. They have a lake instead of a pool perfectly blended in the landscape. The kids just loved it. Will definitely be coming back next year. Recommended for all travellers with or without family.

The perfect place for us

We prefer to stay in a quiet place, preferably near to but not in a town. This property is ideal, it sits in a beautiful acreage with a footpath which leads up to the epic coastal cliff top walks. You can easily walk into Lagos on this path and in the opposite direction to Luz. The house itself is rustic and relaxed with a wood fire that made the living room feel very cozy. Iryna who manages the larger properties could not have been more friendly or helpful. She was a fund of advice and recommendations. The house is proximit to some good restaurants which are nearby and handy, plus several supermarkets are equally close. We loved it and are already talking about visit again. February on the Algarve weatherwise is a vast improvement over the UK, and Vila Pocilgo is a fabulous place to enjoy that, with stunning views from the patio. Thank you Ana Maria and Iryna.

A true Gem our Lagos!

We spent an amazing week here with or 10 month old and it was all that we had hoped for and more. This beautiful, vast and unique property is private while being very close to Lagos and the surrounding areas. You can walk along the famous cliffs to beaches and restaurants right from your lodging but also feel remote and peacefully secluded. The host (Simon) is very friendly and helpful, available to you when you need him but he also gives you your privacy. He was happy to provide information about the area, checked in to make sure all was well with the villa, and was flexible and kind. The villa is clean and equipped with the basics, we were looking for a 'cottage getaway' after a busy week seeing the sites in Portugal so this was the perfect place to feel like you were 'unplugging' without actually needing to do so. Our only recommendation is bring a pair of slippers and warm layers if you are going in the winter months. The space heaters and fireplace so a great job but the tiles floor stays pretty cool! This would be a bonus in the summer, as the villa would stay quite cool even in the heat! We didn't originally plan to return to Portugal but after staying here, we could definitely see ourselves coming back again!

Totally over-priced very shabby cottage

This is the first time in all my years of travelling (20 years) I have left a property early due to poor condition of the interior. On arrival the bungalow does look very nice from the outside, gardens are lovely and well maintained and we were well greeted by the owner Ana, and shown everything inside. I noticed straight away the interior has an odour of dampness and old cigarette smoke, there were ashtrays for use dotted around and I was extremely annoyed as the property is not listed as being for smokers otherwise I would have never even considered it for a booking, as these types of property always remain with a fug in the air you cannot get rid of. The worst part was the bedding which stank of damp and previous inhabitant’s body odour, not very pleasant at all, in fact completely unacceptable. After our first night I asked Ana for a word, and explained that this was an awkward situation to bring up, but did she not realize the smell of the interior from age, smoke and the damp bedding with body odour. She was a bit surprised at first and said she had never had a complaint previously, but did admit yes the property was open to smokers, and admitted damp is a problem. She did bring round some other alternative bedding straight away, but this too all smelled of damp. I also pointed out although the bedroom is furnished with a large wooden wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage neither of these can actually be used as the smell from inside these pieces of furniture is also horrendous, your clothes would end up stinking after a few hours. We asked for a refund and went out straight away to find alternative accommodation, unfortunately we could only find something for two nights later, so had to spend another 2 nights. On arrival at our new accommodation I had to wash the clothes that had been in contact with the bedding and soft seating as they all carried the property smell with them, as did my hair from the pillows. We also noticed during these 2 further days everytime we used the hot water in either the kitchen or bathroom, which kicked in from a wall unit boiler in the kitchen, there was a distinct smell of gas, so I’m sure this unit is a bit faulty somewhere. If this property was subject to a thorough tourist board inspection I don’t think it would rate very highly at all. It is far from the “stunning farmhouse property” it is listed as. Its shabby, smelly and way over priced. Absolutely would not recommend this property.

Die Lage ist ganz wunderbar mitten im Grünen, ein paar Autominuten von Lagos entfernt. Wir haben die absolute Ruhe und die Natur genossen. Am Badeteich ist immer was los. Vögel, die zum trinken kommen, farbenfrohe Libellen, ein erfrischendes Bad am Morgen und am Abend.Das Haus ist gemütlich im typisch südländischen Stil eingerichtet. An der ein oder anderen Stelle ist es in die Jahre gekommen, aber nichts dramatisches. An klaren Abenden sieht man die Milchstraße, da rundherum wenig Lichteinfluss ist. Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt, nochmals hervorzuheben ist die wunderbare Lage und die absolute Ruhe.
