"Such a charming place. Great views of the river. Peaceful with large rooms and comfy! The star is the restaurant!!! Paul and the rest of staff are great"
"We stayed for a few days and a family of five it accommodated all of us with beds and space. It was a wonderful stay, the staff was helpful to let us know places and things to do as well as getting extra towels or anything. The area is beautiful too! Definitely a must stay spot if you need a place to stay in the area! Oh and the fact it’s 5 mins from the Calaveras redwoods was awesome!"
HOT TUB, RIVERFRONT CHALET FAMILY & DOG FRIENDLY ON ACRE NEAR 3 SKI AREAS, SLED
10/10 Excellent
"The house was great, just as described. Location was excellent with river access out back and hiking trails just down the road. Very dog friendly, including the fully fenced backyard. We appreciated the bear horns and we had a bear visit us the first morning! The bear wandered up to the backyard fence while our dog and my wife were out back. It turned away after our dog barked and then proceeded to casually walk to the front of the house and wander into the neighborhood. Inside of the house was comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking and hanging out."
"Great place to get away in the Summer.
It’s a place for hiking and reading.
And a great restaurants near the Lake.
Not a big party place, but deeply reflective.
Take a date!"
"The Creekside Inn is basic, but in Alpine County, if that's where you want to be (and it offers incredible outdoor opportunities and natural beauty year-round!), basic is pretty good. It's quiet, and not at all as pricey as most of the alternatives (of which there are very few). Fabulous restaurant, Stonefly, across the street, is open for dinner Th-Sun. We haven't tried the hotel next door as an alternative for dinner M-W, but that's basically your only option. For decent coffee, there is Mad Dog Cafe in Woodford's, though it doesn't open till 9 a.m. We arrived about 5 p.m. and the room was quite warm. It does cool off at night, but be aware there is no air-conditioning (though we know from past experience, that the heat does work in the winter! Comfortable beds, clean bathroom, one sitting chair, and a TV -- do you need more?"
"A absolutely stunning location! Excellent communication with the host. A terrific spot for a large family or group. We’ve been here three times and hope to return again next summer!"
