Perfect little getaway

This was our first time renting a home and we could not have been happier!! The home surpassed our expectations! It was clean and cozy. Our hostess Marcela was so easy to communicate and work with, she was very accommodating. The Hideout community was perfect, great beaches and very clean. A great family or getaway for everyone! The only thing was no air conditioning, but Marcela said they had just bought the property a few months ago and she said she would b installing ac in the near future. That is nice that she took our recommendations to make her home better for all. She even has a folder with all the local attractions for guests to visit! So we highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for an affordable and clean home to rent!! So enjoy!!🍻

Mid-week, end-of-summer getaway

Le Petit Chalet was a perfect end-of-the-summer family getaway and we'd love to return in the future. The house was clean and nicely decorated; beds were comfortable; great outdoor space (wish the weather had cooperated so we could have enjoyed). Marcela (the host) was super responsive with any questions we had prior and during our stay. She was very helpful and just all around accommodating and a pleasure to interact with! Just a heads up for families--there's a really nice breakfast bar in the kitchen that seats 2, but nowhere for a group to really sit & eat a meal inside. We expected this from the pics and this is fine as we had planned to eat our meals outside on the deck, but never got a chance to uncover the patio furniture during our stay as there were flash flood warnings due to the remnants of the hurricane. Another heads up that I never thought to check in advance was whether or not the lake (which is why we drove 3 hours) was open. It had been closed for a few weeks due to E Coli & Total Cloriform levels. This is obviously out of the control of the homeowner so no reflection on the host or property, but I wish I would have known in advance so we could have tried to reschedule our stay. Luckily the pool was open and my boys made the best of it, but we would have loved to have enjoyed the beach/lake. Another heads up is that all of the places (Beach Shack, Tiki Bar, & Clubhouse) within the development to eat were closed, as well as almost all the local restaurants as college kids have gone back to school and everyone is short staffed. Once again, not in the control of the homeowner (and their kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook), just something to be aware of when booking a vacation in The Hideout this time of year. Despite all this, we'd definitely come back to this house and checkout what the community has to offer in the winter (snow tubing, skiing, etc.).

Wonderful little place!

We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter's 9th birthday with a girls' weekend at La Petite Chalet. The house had everything we needed and Marcela was very communicative. The decor was adorable, the beds were comfy and everything was nice and clean. We enjoyed swimming in one of the community's lakes and one of the heated pools, and played a round of mini golf. There were lots of other activities that we didn't have time to enjoy. We would be happy to stay here again!
