My family and I stayed at The Grove Resort and Water Park to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and we were hoping to give her a memorable experience.
Upon arrival, security was very pleasant and helpful, guiding us to the front desk. Unfortunately, our check-in experience was less welcoming. We were assisted by Jo-Annie, whose demeanor toward our family felt uninviting and dismissive. When we asked whether the resort offered a veteran’s discount, she appeared frustrated and uncomfortable with our question. Additionally, when we were informed of the total cost of the room, we were unaware of the nightly parking fee. This wasn’t an issue—we simply wanted clarification—but her attitude continued to shift in a negative way during the payment process, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted.
Once we made it to our room, the experience improved significantly. The room was exactly what one would expect—spacious, clean, welcoming, and visually appealing. The balcony view was absolutely breathtaking and truly a highlight of our stay. However, we noticed that while all surrounding balconies had chairs, ours did not. We contacted the front desk to report this. Although it wasn’t a major issue, it took nearly three days for the chairs to be delivered, which was disappointing.
Overall, the resort itself is beautiful and well-suited for families. However, guest service—particularly at the front desk—and the urgency in addressing guest requests could use improvement.
