The room’s shower head was blocked with crust, the toilet ran consistently, there was no hand soap until requested it and I also had to request a remote for the television because the one in the room did not work. There was also a strong odor in the hall that I can only attribute to the several gallons of paint being stored in the open hotel rooms across the hall. Additionally, the individual preparing breakfast had a long uncovered beard and a consistent productive cough. He was frequently blowing his nose without washing his hands afterward and wore no mask. I was u able to enjoy any breakfast after observing that. The gentleman at the desk did promptly address my issues with the hand soap and the remote. It was a very unpleasant stay. Not at all consistent with my prior experiences with other Hampton Inn properties.

The elevator didn’t work and we were put on the third floor. Hallways and lobby stunk. Our room was so humid that everything was sticky. It was like you were sleeping outside. The AC was running but obviously not doing its job. We couldn’t get the tv to work. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling.

The property looked dirty despite being the most expensive hotel in the area. The pool was disgusting and the area in front on the building was abandoned and filthy.

Going down hill, smelly

Entire hotel had a bad smell to it and it’s not new. When I was checking in I was told the reservation from Hotels.com was rejected and had to pay in full a different amount. There are a/c units lying down an entire hallway, I assume for updates. Not sure why you would just leave them out in the hallway though. 1 of the elevators is not working. The other elevator made some odd noises and shook when it got to my floor. It actually made me nervous to use. My room key did not work so I had to go back down and use the elevator again. Got a new key and it finally worked. Room was fine and fairly clean. There was greasy handprints on the headboard. Every Hotel in Leesville is overpriced by at least $100 and needs repairs. They can only charge what they do because of the local Army base. I would recommend staying in Alexandria and avoid hotels in Leesville.

My recent experience at the Hampton Inn in Leesville/New Llano was not very pleasant. The bed was extremely uncomfortable—it felt like sleeping on bricks. Additionally, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor. I had to go to Walmart to purchase air freshener just to make the room bearable. Other than those issues, the stay was just okay for a 2-star hotel. It does seem to be the most suitable option in the area, but there’s definitely room for improvement in comfort and cleanliness.

Sustain: Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the front desk were helpful. Convenient to Leesville and Fort Johnson. Improve: I had to change out my duvet cover as it was dirty when I arrived. The Streetlights are very bright...try to get a room out of the direct path of the lights if you need a dark room when you sleep. The curtains did not block all of the light coming in.
