The hotel’s location is excellent, making it a convenient base for exploring the area, and the room offered good value for the price. There are a few areas where the guest experience could be improved. A warmer and more welcoming approach to customer service, greater attention to room readiness and housekeeping, and a more enjoyable breakfast experience would make a noticeable difference. “Unplug and reset!! We stayed in the stargazer tent and it as very cool! The location/view was fantastic. The tents were so clean and well kept. The whole site was quiet during sleeping hours which we really appreciated. The staff was very nice and check-in/out was a breeze. Anything we needed the staff was able to provide quickly and even did so without asking for things we didn't notice. Food from the restaurant was nice, cleaner eating and very welcomed after eating on the road/fast food prior……

“The best. I have to just stick with holiday inn Express from now on. There's never been one I didn't love. Always so impeccably clean, modern, and well maintained, plus the breakfasts are always fabulous. The omelettes, sausage, bacon, and those cinnamon rolls 😋 those blackout curtains and fabulous bedding and AC. Loved that there's washers and dryers. Pack your own detergent pods /sheets for convenience. Front desk will give you quarters. $4/load total. The kids loved the pool. My only tiny……

“Loved this place. Great for our little trip to see Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. Beds upstairs could be a little better but everything else was great. Quiet location and pet friendly.”

“Such a great Lodge! So glad I found this gem. Would definitely stay there again. Beautiful location with a “view” of GW & TJ on Mount Rushmore. About a 2 minute drive to the monument. Large area for kids to play in the evening and a fire pit to cozy around in the evenings. We had a delicious burger in the restaurant in the evening. The breakfast was on par for free hotel breakfast. The only negative I would have is that the rooms are not very soundproof. And definitely ask for an upstairs……

“The Powder HOuse Lodge is right off Highway 16A and except for some traffic noise, we abolutely loved it. The staff was amazing expecially the wait staff in the restaurant. The restaurant serves delicious meals. Everything we tried was mouth wateringly good. The cabins were lovely, spacous and comfortable with two queen beds, a TV, AC, microwave, and mini fridge and a porch with porch swing to enjoy the beauty. There is a heated swimming pool and a few games for kids on the grounds. It's……

“Great little place! Clean and friendly staff. We ordered pizza and ate out on the amazing outdoor dinning areas they have available. They also have grills available for you to use. We would definitely stay again if in the area.”
