Historic Center of Lisbon

“Jóia da Mouraria” is an apartment set in a century-old building in Bairro da Mouraria, the historic center of central Lisbon. This is the Lisbon neighborhood where Fado was born, despite its constant modernization, it still keeps the trace of a typical neighborhood with a genuine experience.

Access to the apartment is through Largo dos Trigueiros, this is located on the ground floor, with few steps. The windows face the Convento do Carmo, with a panoramic view of this area of Lisbon.

Completely refurbished and equipped, it is a space suitable for all ages, families, group of friends and couples, comfortably sleeps 4 people.

Comprising: 1 bedroom with double bed, complete sanitary installation with shower, living room with double sofa bed in openspace with kitchen. If necessary you can have a crib and high chair.

We enjoyed our stay in Marcello's apartment, which was very convenient and walkable. The apartment is clean, well stocked - we appreciated the heaters. If you are staying for a longer time bring extra Nespresso pods and laundry detergent. Would stay again.

The apartment was as described. Everything was very clean. Marcello is a great communicator - prompt and responsive. He even mailed a small item I left behind. There aren’t enough kind words for him. The location of the apartment is convenient, but it is up a big hill people with mobility issues should take note.

The location is a short walk to the amazing Rossio Square Christmas markets and the Castelo de Sao Jorge. The check in process was very easy, the apartment was clean and comfortable, has everything you need. I will stay here again when I visit Lisbon!

Great location

The apartment is exactly as shown, Marcello is an excellent communicator and made all aspects of check-in and check-out very easy. He also provided great recommendations for local food. Located so centrally near Rossio Square/Metro and Rossio Train station. It is super quiet at night and very safe. I wandered home at 11pm by myself. I would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone visiting Lisbon, who wants easy access to all main sights and metro lines.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung. Ein Stern Abzug für das suboptimale Doppelbett 140m breite ist nicht komfortabel, zumal die Matratze weich war und man schnell das Gefühl hatte, beim Umdrehen aus dem Bett zu rollen. Das Zimmer wäre groß genug, ein breiteres Bett reinzustellen.

One Regret!

Only regret, Wish we had stayed longer! Been to Lisbon twice and have always stayed in the Neighborhood. This property was Fantastic. Try the Do Corvo restaurant just across the front door/ deserts, empanadas and drinks Union. Just two that we've always gone to. There is nothing bad to say about property. You will definitely enjoy it! Especially if it's a first time in Lisbon.

Lovely apartment, great location

Marcello kept us well informed about how and when we could access the apartment. He also left us a bowl of fruit, which was really appreciated. The apartment was as described, well furnished and well-equipped - the sofa bed was super comfortable - and the location was ideal, with a number of fun bars and great restaurants just outside the building. I would recommend this place, and would stay here again. It was nice to have a personal touch from the owner. He also left an information book in four languages. We really couldn't fault the place or the service.

A perfect place to stay

We loved our time in this lovely apartment. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and Marcello is an excellent host. His communications were always prompt and clear, and the apartment was spotlessly clean. We took a taxi from the Sta. Apollonia station and the driver was able to drop us off a short easy walk away from the front door. He also pointed out several of the restaurants in the neighborhood that we might not have tried without his recommendation. The square is beautiful, and O Corvo, one of the restaurants there, is excellent for breakfast and dinner, especially sitting outside at one of the tables right next to the building. At night the square and streets around it become a lively hot spot, especially on the weekends, but the way the apartment is oriented, we heard very little noise, even with the windows open. It's easy to walk to Castelo San Jorge, get lost in the winding alleys of Alfama, and head downhill to the Baixa neighborhood for more eating and shopping. We walked everywhere, except to get there from the train station and Uber to the airport. Keep in mind, though, that Lisbon is hilly and full of steep streets and stairs. We would love to stay here again.

3 days of exploration and delight

Open the door to a comfortable and gracious flat in the heart of the city. The host welcomes you with a bowl of fresh fruit which took the edge off the urgency to rush out for tapas. The space is well laid out, has all the amenities needed, and the restaurants in the neighborhood were great when we were ready to partake.

We arrived late to the apartment- very late - since you can't drive up to the door and have stairs to take down to the plaza- our taxi driver didn't want us to get out. At that hour 12am the area didn't appear so safe. But the next day was a completely different story.
