「We have stayed at penny hedge before. The rooms are spotless got everything that you need and will top up coffee teas etc. We also had breakfast which is lovely. Staff very pleasant and helpful」

「Very convenient for central Scarborough, South Bay and the Spa. Parking is a little tricky although there is a multi-storey up the road for £12 a day. The hotel itself was grand although in need of a little TLC - renovations were ongoing while we were there. The room was similar - comfortable and spacious but with a few things in need of repair.」

「The hotel is quite dated which adds a lot of character to the property. The general areas are relatively clean but the room we were booked in has seen better days. There were some cobwebs near the windows and the floor was a bit dusty. We arrived almost midnight and quite tired so didn’t really do a complete check of the room. 「Staff are really great and friendly! The room we stayed is near the alley which is noisy during the night that we couldn’t sleep well. And the pillows are flat that are not comfortable. 」

「Overall, the room is warm and comfortable although it is relatively small, sufficient for move of one person. The bathroom is large and warm. One drawback is the location is not near to Durham town Center (35 -40 minutes walking distance) and go some slopes before reach the hotel. 」
