Hotel location, size & condition of apartment and all hotel services staff were very good, specially Kamal was very friendly and helpful at reception desk. Complimentary breakfast was bonus as I wasn’t expecting it. I would recommend it to family of 4 to 6 people, if you can compromise with one bathroom. I would more likely rebook again in future. The amenities in the disabled access room. Needs to be addressed. It is dangerous not to have a seat in the bathroom for a disable person to sit on. I found it extremely difficult to stand, which meant it took a lot longer for me to shower. Not ideal. Fix that problem and i could potentially look at booking to stay again in the future.

From start to finish, this was one of the worst and most disgusting hotel experiences I have ever had At check-in, the receptionist blatantly refused to acknowledge that I had booked an accessible room, despite me always booking one due to accessibility needs, especially now as my hand is broken and I require more space. He insisted all accessible rooms were sold out and gave me room 418. When I entered, the room was filthy, with dirt all over the walls. I immediately went back downstairs and refused to stay there. After showing my booking confirmation again, he suddenly “found” an accessible room and assigned me room 518. While slightly better, it was still dirty and unacceptable. The next morning at 10:45 am, I informed reception that the room needed servicing and that the toilet drainage was blocked, leaving the bathroom flooded. After being out for several hours, nothing had been done. I requested assistance again multiple times throughout the day, yet no one attended to the issue. Eventually, housekeeping only dropped off two towels and left, without fixing anything. In the evening, I raised the issue again with the same receptionist, who rudely dismissed me and ignored my complaint. His behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and shocking. I contacted Hotels.com three times, and they were assured by the hotel that the room would be cleaned, but nothing was ever done. At checkout, I showed the manager photos of the filthy conditions All I received was a brief “sorry”

I had a really good stay at the Ilford Grand Hotel. I was there for one night by myself and the staff were absolutely amazing — genuinely some of the most helpful I’ve come across. They let me store my luggage before check-in, and even allowed my friends (who weren’t staying at the hotel) to leave their bags as well. They also held my luggage after check-out until the afternoon, which made the whole trip much easier. The room itself was clean and nicely presented. The main downside was the bed setup — two single beds pushed together that weren’t the most comfortable. There was also a random fridge on the floor plugged into the wall, which looked a bit out of place, but it didn’t cause any issues at all! One small inconvenience was that although the room had everything for making tea and coffee, there was no kettle provided. Luckily, there’s a coffee shop just a couple of doors down, so it wasn’t a big problem. Overall, great service and a pleasant stay — just a few minor things that could be improved! Would definitely consider staying again!
