Room was clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. However, the floor of our room was squeaky and a little noisy. Wifi connection was also patchy, so we cannot use the internet most of the time when we are in the room. The facade of the building was dated. Staff very helpful and room attendant has done a tremendous job with keeping the room clean and tidy.

You will not get any sleep in this hotel when people are awake. The floors creak from above and next door when anyone is walking. You can hear guests very well thru the walls. The only good thing about the hotel is the location and large bathtubs. They have no refrigerator. Do not stay here if you want to get any rest on your trip.

Many areas were tatty. For example the bathroom (and its door) near the lobby haven't been painted in years. This is any easy fix so why? The hall between the bar and the lobby is missing many tiles. There is a large threadbare hole in the carpet. There is missing ceramic coating in the bathtub in many areas not just one ding. This property needs a facelift badly. The staff were terrific and the music in the lobby during cocktail hour was great. Great vibe but too worn in ways that should be easy fixes.

Location is excellent, with an abundance of shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel is really clean , breakfasts are great. Age of building is definitely showing and needs some renovations. I understand there are plans in upcoming year to renovate!

This is an amazing hotel! It’s in a great location as well - right across from Kensington gardens and steps away from Lancaster gate underground. The Columbia is the perfect mix of modern and historic. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the bathroom/shower. It was not ideal, the plumbing is very old but what can you do. Otherwise our room was great. Comfortable beds, very clean, and friendly staff.

Photos online look nice but this was quite an underwhelming stay. The building is OLD and creeks with every step. The lift was broken most of the time, the room was old with mold on ceiling in bathroom. Room chandelier was detached from ceiling. Walking up to the hotel at night made us feel like it was haunted. They had a "Fairy Magic" Conference going while we were there and the place smelled like weed in different parts. On the positive side, the staff was very nice.

Très grande chambre: literie excellente, déco sympa. Salle de bain contrastante avec la chambre : une grande salle de bain restée dans son jus (mais cela fait son charme) : pommeau de douche à l’ancienne, lavabo bas, éclairage néon avec cordelette. Second time staying within three months and already have another stay booked for later in the year. I adore this place, the staff are really friendly and the rooms are a good size, even the standard double rooms. The only issue I really have is being 6’2 it’s hard for me to have a shower as the shower head is fixed to the wall but the baths are a good size to make up for it.
