"I am a very low maintenance person, who doesn't write bad reviews often. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We arrived very tired and needing to rest. VRBO was having a temporary issue which prevented us from the necessary step of contacting the host to get our room # and door code. We called the hotel and they suggested we keep trying and call back if we couldn't get in. We called back a few minutes later and it kept going to voicemail. We called VRBO and spent the next hour being helped by the VRBO agent who contacted the hotel, who wouldn't allow him to get our room # or door code either. VRBO was not the problem here, and they did everything they could to get us checked in, because soemtimes apps have issues, and they have a contingency plan to directly contact the host. Finally, 2 hours later, the host hotel listened to our voicemails and emailed us the registration protocols to then get our room # and door code. Extremely unprofessional and difficult to deal with, and refusal to communicate with us. And no, we were never loud or rude or verbally abusive to any staff."

"We enjoyed our stay at the cove very much. The unit was about as big as my home studio apartment. 2 queen beds in a separate bedroom and another queen fold out in the living area. The bathroom was also spacious and well lit. The kitchenette was great but would be even better if a small microwave was added. The community microwave in the “play room” was better than nothing but a wee bit of a distance for us. The ice machine worked once in the 5 days we stayed. Bought bags of ice at the liquor store a short walk away. We really appreciated the combo for the storage closet so we could grab extra towels, cups and coffee. We’d rather not bother the office folk so it worked out well for us. The office peeps were friendly and helpful and it made our stay all the more pleasant. It was a busy few days at The Cove while we were there. Once a couple of ladies tried to get into our room before they realized they had the wrong room. Two other nights (one at 3am) someone banged on our door then left. We assume it was another case of mistaken room. We enjoyed the outside area with fire pits, bbq grills, a giant jenga game and comfy swinging chairs as well as standard tables and chairs. The upstairs game room was fun, too! Our 9 year old boy enjoyed playing foosball with a Dad as well as the snacks in the vending machine but it really needed refilling. We liked the microwave popcorn but less than 1/2 actually popped. That happens at home, too. Parking was plentiful. Good location."

"Our whole experience from booking to check-out was great. Rachel was very responsive and answered my inquiries promptly. The apartment is spacious and so pretty. Parking is easy although Google Maps and Waze were not accurate. It was a little confusing to find, but once we did, no issues.We were there during a heat wave in May and the day we arrived it was 100 degrees. There were air conditioners in the bedrooms and a large floor fan that we used in the living room and the apartment was perfectly comfortable. The apt we stayed in is on the second floor. The staircase is winding and a little steep - absolutely no issue for us, but it might not be ideal for someone with mobility issues. The location is great for walking around town and easy to get to anywhere on the North Shore."

"Our family was in town for a college graduation. The property was in a great location, close to the Beverly train station, shops, and restaurants. The home was clean and included the amenities our family needed for our stay. Our host, Rachel, was available for any questions we had along the way. Communications provided on check-in, details about the home, near by dining and attractions, check-out, etc were well done and very helpful. Overall, this was a neat experience to stay in a home built in the 1680’s. Lots of character throughout."
