Lovely Lucca apartment!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is large, bright and has great access to both the train station and the city center. There are a couple of cafes very close by as well where we enjoyed breakfast. Giovanna was a great host. She is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Lucca!

A lovely week in Lucca

We loved our gracious hostess and the proximity to the city center, train station and bistros too numerous to count! Easy day trips to cinque Terre, Siena and Florence with a few transfers to each!

Puccini Apartment is Wonderful!

Lucca has my heart!

Very nice apartment; everything was in walking distance. Many restaurants nearby. Short walk from the train station. Giovanna was very helpful. We had some problems with the hot water but Giovanna was very responsive.

Perfect

I hesitate to tell anyone about this place because then everyone will want to stay at this property. It was absolutely perfect in all respects. I have never stayed at a cleaner or well equipped property. I am missing not being there. Even on a rainy day it is a great place to be looking out over the roofs of Lucca and listening to the rain, sitting in the comfortable lounge and plotting our next outing There are stairs to climb so a note of caution to those with difficulties.

Lucca Trip

Location was superb. The apartment had absolutely everything you could possibly need including maps, recommendations, etc. Kitchen was lovely. Since we four happen to be in our 70's, the only negative for us were the 42 steps. However, Giovanna was there to help us when we initially arrived.

Perfect Place for Us!

The location is wonderful! I wanted to make some meals ""at home"". The grocery store was within walking distance and the kitchen had everything we needed. In addition the regional train station was within walking distance which made a day trip to Pisa very easy. Giovanna our host answered every email prior to our arrival. She met us at the apartment to review the property and suggestions for activities. Lucca and Giovanna, thank you for making Lucca a city we want to visit again!

Special family stay

We loved our stay at this apartment in Lucca. Conveniently located to train station, bus stops, Supermarket , shops and restaurants. We had hoped for an Italian home away from home and that’s exactly what we got. The kitchen and all rooms were stocked to make our stay comfortable and had everything we needed to make us feel at home. We enjoyed day trips to Pisa, Cinque Terre and Tuscan towns. At night we enjoyed strolling and exploring inside the walls. Bike riding on the walls was a highlight for the family. Giovanna was a fabulous friendly host, who gave us lots of information.

I have stayed in several apartments in Lucca and Puccini has an unusual amount of natural light and windows, and is very nicely furnished and appointed. We enjoyed a lovely cross-breeze through the open windows on warm June days and had views of a beautiful, large garden. Everything we needed for cooking and serving meals was available and the bathrooms were well stocked. Giovanna could not have been a more welcoming, positive and warm host -- whenever we needed anything she arrived with it almost immediately, and with a smile.

Great place to stay!

We loved the Giovanna's apartment - it was very clean and brilliantly well equipped. We arrived a little early in the middle of a thunderstorm and Giovanna's graciously let us in and welcomed us to her apartment. We had a lovely week, the location is excellent for sight seeing, shopping and relaxing, there are great little bars, cafes and restaurants right outside the door, its an easy walk to the supermarket and there was even a roundabout/ carousel nearby which our 7 year old twins loved. The apartment has a warm welcoming feel and I loved cooking in the well equipped kitchen with the beautiful garden view. The weather was very wet the week we stayed but knowing we could come back and get warm, dry and comfortable was great. Giovanna was the perfect host.

Just about perfect.

The property is as exactly described, but that doesn't really do it justice. The location is just about perfect, very close to Porta San Pietro but pretty well shielded from random street noise. There are several good bakeries (Dolce e Pane has great bread in the morning) and gelato shops within a couple blocks and you can't walk 5 minutes without finding a good cafe. If you're coming with kids, the carousel is pretty close. The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and lovely. You could reasonably fit six people here. Two double beds, two twins. It's on the third floor (by American counting) and they are tall floors - this might be difficult for those with issues climbing stairs. Assuming that's not an issue for you, you will love it. Giovanna was efficient and pleasant and very helpful. Everything worked out really well. Though it's not really part of the property listing or my review, the downstairs neighbors are very nice, too. Lucca itself is just a wonderful town. Not too big, not too small, not too touristy. We'll be back to Lucca and I sincerely hope to stay right here again.

Light and airy in Lucca!

We we horrified that the place we had originally reserved in Lucca (B&B Anfiteatro) canceled on us 2 days before we were going to arrive. We were already in Italy, and had no where to stay. I rushed back to get online so we could look for alternate arrangements. We found this place and took a chance. What a delight! We are so happy things worked out the way they did. Giovanna met us at the gate to Lucca, to walk us to the apartment. It is large (the entire top floor). It has many windows that you can open up and let a nice breeze blow through. It's in a great location, just a few blocks inside the walls. Lucca is pretty small, so walking everywhere, within the walls, is not a problem. Just make sure you have a map so you're not walking in circles (like we did, at first). After showing us around the 3 bedroom apartment, Giovanna showed me where we could park. It was only a short walk from the apartment, so it was very convenient. We drove to Pisa (15 minutes) one day and to the coast (Varriego, 20 minutes) another day, so it was also a great hub for venturing out. We wanted to go to Cinque Terre (about 80 minutes) but ran out of time. The only downside we experienced was not being able to stay longer. We really enjoyed the apartment. We're now glad that our original plans fell through. Thank you so much, Giovanna (and Francesco), we had a wonderful time!

Lucca IT inside the wall

We had a superb trip to Lucca, Italy starting with this comfortable apartment centrally located near all the amenities and historical treats inside the walled city. A short walk from the south gate across from the train station, we were able to walk to each of our planned sites. Giovanna was a wonderful host, who was available to provide great recommendations when requested and gave us plenty of space to enjoy this beautiful city.

The Puccini apartment is perfectly located within the walls of Lucca but an easy walk to parking. Restaurants, cafes, shops of all kinds and the best gelato in Lucca are just steps away. Great apartment in very good location

This is the second time we've rented this property. Liked it so much that we came back. Giovanna is lovely and helpful. The apartment is perfect. Good layout and has everything you might need. It's a climb to the apartment (3rd floor by American standards) - if you have mobility issues, i suggest trying elsewhere. Window screens aren't really a thing in Europe, so respect the occasional mosquito. AC is extra, but respect only a couple $ or € per day unless you really crank it. Parking is at the train station, if you want it. Most of the walled city of a ZTL, which makes it nice for pedestrians. Location is great, close to Porto san Pietro, within the walls. Train station is a quick walk. Small grocery store is an easy walk, but a big supermarket will require a car. I would happily come back again. Lucca is a delight and this is a lovely place to stay while you're there.
