“For a 1 star hotel , the service is better than a lot of 3 stars The staff at front desk is amazing and very helpful We stayed with my whole family and my mom had her flight cancelled and had to stay at the hotel by herself not speaking the language I left all instructions at the hotel and they followed every instruction perfectly I am very grateful to the hotel and the staff ”

“The hotel location was safe and quiet. The hotel itself was modern witb a gym and pool, very clean and amenities. The staff were very curteous and friendly wirh prompt response. The breakfast is buffet with great and varied options. The spa..massage is something to definitely soak into The hotel is family friendly, we stayed for a week and enjoyed it. We would go back in a heart beat!! It offers an amazing experience at an affordable cost”

“Comfortable bed, spacious room and very friendly & competent staff. The location, on a walking distance to the city center of Stellenbosch, is also perfect. Only negative: the pool is a bit smaller than on the pictures, you can't swim a lap in there. Also had some problems with the AC.”

“The hotel is beautiful, the gardens are amazing. The rooms are big and spacious. Breakfast is very nice but can be chaotic if there are a lot of people at the same time, service gets overwhelmed. ”

“Staff were polite, quick to respond to any queries and very helpful. The surrounding area is beautiful and the place itself were kept in great condition. Our rooms were lovely and clean. We made use of the pool and the gym and we were very happy with both facilities (maybe some boxing gloves/focus mitts/boxing punch bag could be added in the future :) Overall; our stay was prefect and we will definitely stay there again when we are back in SA!”

“Beat all of our expectations, and they were pretty high from reading the reviews! Accommodation is brilliant and has all amenities we could wish for. Great breakfast and we tried the lunch here last day, also superb. But the by far best thing was the staff. We were made to feel super-welcome and got great recommendations for dinners, winetasting and trekking. “The Protea Hotel Tyger Valley was Magical. In the perfect location with breathless views of the entire city of Cape Town including the beautiful Table Mountains. The hotel room was exceptionally clean and neat with everything one needs soft cozy beds and the best sheets silky and soft. The staff were amazing from the speedy check in with a wonderful reception from Busiswe and Mpho. I would highly recommend for its charm, location and staff. Satori Restaurant 5-10min walk down street is Amazing food and service (ask for Shantell). Highly recommend!”

“Basically staying in SA safety is a concern, i had a very bad experience in my last visit of SA in the other hotel. City lodge is quite good about this, the employee is good. One complaint is the view, i didn't get the mountain view this time.”
