The room we stayed in was decent size, but the beds were very uncomfortable and the pull out couch had a giant stain on the mattress. The carpet is full of stains, the bathtub had hair in it from previous people, they never restocked the towels before our stay and left the dirty towels in the bathroom from the previous people. The bathroom tiles were also coming off the floor. For the price they charge the rooms should be clean and in better condition.

Disappointing stay. The rooms were very small, the property felt outdated, the breakfast was poor, and the pool was not clean. Overall, the hotel did not meet our expectations.

This motel is so outdated, dirty and kinda gross. The only positive it had was the location. The lock on our door seemed super weak and unsafe (I wouldn’t stay there as a single female traveler, beware) and the outlets didn’t work. The bed was super uncomfortable and smelled like beef jerky. I don’t want to know why. A lot of things inside the room didn’t seem to work. Lights flickered a lot. Carpet was sticky. Our room had an overpowering mold smell.

The view was remarkable! Breakfast was great. The only negative comment would be that the place needs a little tlc. Our balcony screen door had a broken screen. Our lamps were missing lightbulbs and the outlets don't hold a plug (in some).

Promising but outdated. The room was small and crowded. It seemed very dusty and dirty. It looked like it was decorated in the 90s. The bed was uncomfortable, though the pillows were nice and soft. The tub was relaxing. The bathroom floor was gross. The patio door was loud and hard to open, as it stuck a lot.

If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. This hotel does not care about you or your children’s safety. All they care about is taking your money. I booked a stay with this hotel four days prior to arrival so I did not purchase the travel insurance, thinking I wouldn’t need it. Unfortunately our stay ended up being the peak point of the smoke coming down from Canada. Closing the majority of things to do in Michigan. I called Expedia asking for a refund since I was traveling with my 8 year off son. The hotel denied my request for a refund. So I called the hotel directly simply asking if I could change my dates since Michigan was under a poor air quality advisory. This hotel was extremely rude and refused to work with me even in the slightest. I even asked the manager if she would travel to Mackinaw with an 8 year old, she just sat there in silence. To me the silence was confirmation that she knew what she was doing was wrong. I’ve honestly never been more disappointed in a company and I feel like I was taken advantage of since I paid upfront. I will never booked with this company again.

Do not stay at this hotel, unless you have no other option. My wife and I, and our three children were awakened at 2:00 am by the night manager trying to get into our room. Apparently, after being given a new room after checking in (our original room had a bad smell and the lights didn't work), the day staff forgot to enter the room change in the hotel reservation system--so the system thought that our new room was still available. So he attempted to enter our room at 2:00am to check in a late arrival. Nevertheless, he still came back 30 minutes later (after we had all fallen back to sleep), to knock on our door AGAIN, to ask for my name, in order to confirm our reservation. Of course, this was something he could have easily done in the morning. To add insult to injury, the hotel manager was unwilling to offer us any compensation for our inconvenience, even though they had the option to do so (i.e. the hotel sold tickets for a local ferry service and could certainly have given us a discount on those tickets). Finally, the "gym" and pool were disgusting (dirty towels everywhere, horrible smell of mold, etc.) My kids took one look and said, "no thanks." Bottom line, if you stay here and something goes wrong (like you and your family are awakened TWICE in the middle of the night due to an error made by the hotel staff), don't expect any attempt by the hotel to make things right.
