From the time we arrived until we left we had the very best of times. Clean room, great staff, Kieran, Johnny and Summer were awesome. And overall the food was absolutely delicious.. from breakfast through to and including the Sunday toast with delicious cauliflower cheese!! Highly recommended

This was one of the worst places for cleanliness we have ever stayed in. Unfortunately the cleaner is very young and has probably never been shown how to clean properly. The people who run the place obviously don't check the rooms properly. The towels smelt like they had been washed in cooking oil. One morning my husband asked for a clean cup as we could clearly see it was not clean and the person said whatever in a matter of fact way. I have plenty of photographs for evidence of this.

On arrival staff were very welcoming. We were able to check in a little earlier and shown to our room and given all the info we needed for our stay. Quirky little pub with entrance to our room up a little staircase through the kitchen area. Stairs maybe a little tricky for some as they are quite steep. Our room was pretty basic (which we expected for a b&b and at the price range) but was very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. We had a lovely view of the Quay too. The bed was comfy and there were coffee and tea facilities in the room. We had the full English in the morning and it was amazing! Really tasty! I think what really made the stay for us was the hospitality we received from the staff. It really made our stay and we would definitely stay again so thank you Fish on the Quay!

The hotel and rooms looked nothing like the pictures advertised, which suggest a charming pub by a harbour. Instead, we were taken through a scruffy conservatory and through back-of-house areas, which set the tone for the stay. The rooms themselves were dated and untidy, and not somewhere I would choose to take my partner. We paid for two double rooms with private bathrooms, however one of the rooms had the bathroom located across the hallway, which felt misleading. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and polite. The accommodation was adequate for a single night while working away, but had this been a leisure stay, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere.

Omg the whole experience here was fabulous, Summer and Ebony the 2 female staff were wonderful. Summer would go above and beyond and nothing was too much for her. She had a wonderful sweet funny aura about that was so refreshing. Later we met Kieran the manager he was wonderful so helpful and very funny even though he was unwell with flue nothing was to much. Such a wonderful place to stay, very clean and the food was amazing too. Dog friendly and loads of treats a for the dog available and we even got a doggy pack. The area was wonderful loads to see and lovely walks for the dog. Definitely stay again we can highly recommend. Thank you to all at Fish on the Quay for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable !!

The staff are very nice I have no complaints at all about them at all, but the hotel isn’t very clean.When you arrive you are shown to your room through the area next to the kitchen the smell of dirty oil/fat was very off putting. I did pay for breakfast when we booked but I was so put off by the smell and cleanliness of the kitchen we left before any staff even arrived to cook the breakfast. Room was nice and cosy but bathroom wasn’t clean around the outside of the shower cubicle I understand that it’s an old building but a bit of bleach would have got that off.

Ideal for a one night stay. Did not have breakfast but menu looked good. Staff were lovely. Room not serviced however, yes it was Christmas but fresh cups coffee milk etc would have been nice. Amazing old building. Parking might be an issue in summer.

Small room. Being woken up at 5am by beer kegs being loaded outside the hotel room. Being kept awake by drunks outside. Shower running cold and by time it had got hot tbe shower and sink had got blocked and overflowed. Only got apology not any sort of compensation.

Had to wait 10 mins to check in as no staff were available. No towels in room assured they would be provided but still had to ask for them again at 22:30 when we got back to our room. Went down for breakfast at 9:00am, no staff. Waited until 9:10 only to be told that by the cleaner there were no staff again. Already paid for breakfast. NOT HAPPY!

The only negative was breakfast isn't served till 9am. Which is too late. 7am till 9am would be so much better even if you pre order the night before.

Food was fantastic. Great menu with loads of options and cooked/presented to perfection! Staff very friendly. Room was nice with a comfy bed and good amenities. Shower didn't switch on reported to staff who ensured another shower was available.
