We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Zoëtry. For a resort associated with the Marriott brand and positioned as a luxury property, the overall experience fell far below expectations.
The food was one of our biggest disappointments. The quality, variety, and overall dining experience simply did not feel consistent with a resort at this price point. Beverage options were also disappointing and lacked the quality and selection we expected.
There was also very little entertainment or activity in the evenings, leaving the resort feeling unusually quiet and lacking energy. While some guests may appreciate a very subdued atmosphere, this felt less like peaceful luxury and more like there simply was not much to do.
The marina area was particularly disappointing. There was a horrible smell near the docks that made spending time in that area unpleasant, and the vacant storefronts throughout the marina gave the entire area a neglected, almost abandoned appearance. It certainly did not create the upscale atmosphere we anticipated.
We chose Zoëtry because of its reputation and its affiliation with Marriott, and unfortunately, this experience did not live up to either. Marriott should be embarrassed to have its name associated with a property being presented as a luxury resort in this condition. At this price point, guests should expect exceptional food, beverages, amenities, entertainment, and surroundings. Sadly, our stay delivered none of those consistently.
