We booked a 1 night stay to visit family.
We checked and and everything seemed great at first glance, then rushed out.
We returned to our room around 10pm. Our son showered and got into bed. My partner then lay on the bed which was noisy and uncomfortable.
I went to reception and was offered a room change, which I appreciated. The new room was in the renovated section. The bed was comfortable and quiet. The new room didn’t have the sofa bed made up. We had to bring the bedding from the old room, where our son had been lying, to make up ourselves (our son was so tired as it was 10.45pm now)
(we potentially transferred the bed bugs).
The new room was missing basic amenities. There was no shower gel or hair conditioner, and there were only enough towels for two people. We had to wash with shampoo.
In the morning of our check-out, we discovered that our son had developed multiple bite marks along his body, which appeared to be bed bug bites. This raised significant concern, as it was not what we expected from a well-known and reputable hotel brand like Hilton.
We reported this to the manager who took photos of the bites and advised to seek medical care. We saw a pharmacist who said they looked like bed bug bites and we bought medication. We we told to wash Everything we had, coats, bags etc.
The hotel said they had put bug bombs in both rooms, 2 days later pest control visited and found nothing. Im not surprised after them using bug bombs.
No compensation was offered!
