We found out our room was ‘upgraded’ upon arrival. However, the room we were given was boiling (24.5 degrees). Very uncomfortable to be in the room as the windows don’t open and we found out the AC was broken when we attempted to cool down the room. We complained about the heat and was offered a fan. The bathroom was tiny and the floor of the bathroom was heated so that was boiling as well. Wish I had received the room I booked because the bathroom would’ve been bigger (looking at the photos) and maybe the AC in that room would’ve worked. The noise from outside was quite loud and the bed was so soft that I sunk into it too so our sleep was terrible. It was a relief to leave and get some fresh air, glad our stay was one night; I wouldn’t come here again. Avoid at all costs if you’re planning a trip in the hotter months because we weren’t even warned about our room not having AC.

1. Failure to communicate check-in information. Prior to our arrival, we were told we would be informed of the check-in time. No such communication was received. 2. Non-functioning lift. Upon arrival, the lift was out of order. This was not communicated to us in advance. 3. Non-functioning air conditioning. The air conditioning in our room was not operational, resulting in an uncomfortably warm environment throughout our stay. 4. Unpleasant room condition. The room had a noticeable and persistent unpleasant odour, which added to the general discomfort. 5. Excessive and undisclosed noise until 2:00 a.m. This was the most serious issue. Music continued at a volume that caused the entire room to vibrate until 2:00 in the morning, making it impossible for either myself or my young son to sleep. At no point during the booking process, nor at check-in, were we informed that the hotel would be subject to this level of noise. We would have accepted a degree of street noise as perfectly normal for a city hotel — but what we experienced was something else entirely. The noise level was comparable to being inside a nightclub. Had we been made aware of this in advance, we would not have proceeded with this booking. The failure to disclose this constitutes, in my view, a serious and material omission.

The room was beautiful and spotless. The free glass of Kylie prosecco on arrival set the mood. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend. There was a bit of noise from the street below, but your staying on a party street and that what I expected.

Nice enough, clean, pleasant staff. Easy reach of the train station. Poor lighting. Automatic lights in the corridors which don’t always turn on, rooms are dark which makes it awkward when trying to locate switches and negotiating access to the rooms.
