Perfect Cottage in Manteo

Enjoyed four days with our granddaughters in the perfect place. Size was just right. Location was convenient to everything including walking to ice cream and the playground. The yard was an added benefit. Very quiet neighborhood and many nice places to walk the dog.

Budleigh stay

So cute! The cottage is small but packs in everything that we needed. The location is perfect, within walking distance to all the shops, bars and restaurants in Manteo. We would definitely stay here again.

Clemons cottage is adorable and in a great location. We enjoyed walking to the waterfront each day and sitting in the garden with our dogs at the end of the day. Loved our stay and will be planning another visit soon!

Perfect Cottage Getaway

Wonderful little getaway retreat in a great location. Short walk to waterfront shops and host was so nice to work with (excellent communication ahead of our visit). Felt welcoming, cozy, and comfortable.

This Property Deserves it's High Rating!!!

The cottage was as described. Great size, nice amenities, yard was perfect to hang out in and relax, location to waterfront could not have been better. 10 minutes fron Nags Head beaches. All in all, excellent.

Wonderful Cottage

Really enjoyed the stay. Location was perfect, especially for the July 4th holiday. The cottage was awesome, secluded with landscaping, nice outside sitting area, within walking distance of downtown Manteo. Nice morning walks around classic Manteo homes in the neighborhood with our dog. Well furnished cottage, decor was done with great taste. Will be back again soon I’m sure. Hope so….

Sweet Little Cottage to sooth the soul!

Loved the cottage!! Inside was cute and cozy... very walkable to downtown Manteo. Fortunately, the weather was perfect for sightseeing, beach strolls and checking out the neighborhood which was very friendly. Ate all my meals outside in the lovely garden as there really was not a dining area inside, but that was OK by me! Hope to come again, soon.

Cozy & Quiet

We really enjoyed a long weekend at the Cottage. It's cozy and super quiet. Just a few blocks from "downtown" Manteo, it's the perfect location to see the town and also take the short drive to the beach. Everything was perfect!

Loved this home and location !

We spent a month in this adorable home and loved every minute of it. It’s a couple of blocks from Manteo downtown water front and not too far from the Outer Banks, Lake Mattuskeet, and other outdoor / wildlife areas. Hopeful we can make this trip again. If you rent, it won’t disappoint !! The owner is exceptional and made sure we had everything we needed ! A 5-star stay for sure !

Perfect Beach Cottage

We (and our dog Oban) absolutely loved our stay at the Beach Cottage. It was so peaceful and relaxing...morning coffee outside listening to the birds and cocktails in the evening gazing at the nighttime skies. We were able to stroll the short distance into town, where there were many restaurants and shops to check out. We definitely recommend checking out Manteo and the Beach Cottage...you won't be disappointed!

Lovely Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clemons Cottage. The cottage is perfect for a couple. Everything was clean, and there was a lot of information available. We would definitely recommend this to another couple. The owner was lovely to deal with, and was always quick to reply when we had any questions prior to our trip. We would definitely return to this lovely cottage.

Great location in Manteo

We felt like we were living in a doll house! Super quaint little cottage in walking distance to all of Manteo. Was great to have our pups with us- although the tumbled glass in the driveway did stick to their paws. Sharon was very responsive.

Lovely, quaint and cozy!

We booked the cottage for our 30th wedding anniversary for myself, my spouse and two greyhounds. It was great! It’s small so it was quite “cozy” sharing the space with two people and two large dogs but it suited our needs well. Host was awesome about answering questions and sharing info about the area. Beds were comfy with tons of fluffy pillows and nice bedding. Very small, but functional kitchen. Wouldn’t want to try to cook a full dinner in it, but great for a simple breakfast or making sandwiches for lunch. If you’re tall, like my 6’3”hubby, you do need to watch out for some low doorways and light fixtures. He bonked his head a few times. Overall a great space and the local area is fantastic! Incredible people, great restaurants, tons of historic sites and attractions to visit, beautiful beaches not too far away. Highly recommend!

Awful! Extremely Disappointing!

Awful is an understatement for our stay! We arrived 6/19 & by 6/21 we packed the car & left. We scheduled to be there for an entire week & barely survived 48 hours. 1. Upon arriving we couldn't find where to park because the entrance is so overgrown. We had to ask the neighbors where we were suppose to find the "off-street" parking. 2. The cottage looks NOTHING like the pictures. Paint was chipping & peeling off the fence/house. (The maintenance guy showed up on Monday 6/20 to start scraping & painting the fence - the fact that this was occurring while guests were there is unbelievable. Then for him to leave the paint/tarps laying on the sidewalk when he wasn't there 2/3 of the day so we had to cross the street to use a sidewalk is even more unbelievable.) The garden was completely overgrown & weeds everywhere. The steps up to the cottage were a tripping hazard. The patio furniture was covered in cobwebs & falling apart. We had to clean for us to be able to sit outside. 3. The so-called bikes that were available to use were at the back of the cottage and hidden by the overgrown trees. The first bike had a seat with chunks missing from it. The second bike's handlebars were completely rusted. Both bikes covered in cobwebs. Let's go inside the cottage... 4. The smell, OH MY GOD THE SMELL! A mixture of cat urine and mold. I have never smelled something so horrible. 5. The kitchen - every piece of silverware in the drawer was covered in crusted old food. The soap dispenser had water instead of soap in it. GROSS! 6. The living area - stains all over the furniture. We had to put beach towels on the furniture in order to sit down it was so dirty. There's a paper plate screwed to the wall that was painted the same color as the wall. I don't even want to know what's behind it! The carpet felt so dirty we refused to walk barefoot. 7. The decor looked like something out of the house that time forgot. Random knickknacks everywhere. The bookshelf contained a bible with a Playboy book right next to it - need I say more. 8. The bedrooms - The most uncomfortable bed ever. 9. The bathroom - Mold on the ceiling. Bath towels stained with black marks & lord knows what else. Sand in the bottom of the tub from the previous guests. Interestingly enough someone left a review on 6/26 which is one day after we were supposed to leave. Hard to believe someone else had a 5-star stay when we found the conditions to be unbearable for less than 48 hours!
