This is a beautiful, historic hotel with a lot of charm and character. The architecture and interior details really stand out, and you can tell the building has a story to it. I genuinely enjoyed the overall aesthetic and atmosphere—it feels like a place with history rather than just another generic hotel. The location is also a big plus, with plenty of great dining options and spots to explore within easy walking distance.
I would have given this stay five stars if not for two issues. First, the HVAC system didn’t seem to function as advertised. While it allows adjustments of ±5° from a 70° set point, setting it to the cooler side still left the room uncomfortably warm throughout the night.
Second, there was an intermittent loud noise, about once an hour that sounded like something heavy being dropped on the floor. As a light sleeper, this made it difficult to get consistent rest and was unfortunately the biggest downside of the stay.
Overall, it’s a lovely and distinctive hotel, and with a bit of attention to those issues, it could easily be an exceptional place to stay.
