    Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed

    Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included. Cot. Enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Standing in its own large and secluded garden, this delightful Grade II listed picturesque thatched cottage is very comfortably furnished, spacious, light and sunny. Situated in a small and peaceful hamlet between Salisbury and charming Marlborough, it provides a relaxing base from which to explore the many attractions of this lovely part of the country. Savernake Forest, the New Forest, Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead Gardens, the historic city of Winchester, and the Roman spa and Georgian streets of the city of Bath are all within 1 hour’s drive. Shop 2 miles, pub with restaurant 0.5 miles.

October Cottage is a pretty thatched property, the sitting room is cosy and comfortable, kitchen well equipped, large bathroom, we slept well on the comfortable beds. The negative points are the mixer shower on the bath has no screen or curtain, and the stairs are narrow with a sharp twist, there is a handrail to grip but it is a bit loose. The surrounding countryside is delightful, there is a large Tesco store in Tidworth a short drive away, but if eating out, the food and welcome at The Barleycorn in Collingbourne Kingston, 8 minute walk from the cottage, are highly recommended.October Cottage met all our needs.

Wonderful chocolate box cottage

Fantastic stay, the cottage was very well positioned and central to all the things we wanted to do. Very spacious for 4 people with a good size garden for the dogs to use. We did send two emails about extending our stay but neither were replied to, although this didn't detract from our stay. We'd certainly both recommend and also revisit in the future

Great location, nice local pub and easy access to nice walks and cycle rides. Stonehenge and Avebury are a short drive away. Good size enclosed garden. Friendly neighbours. Some of the ceilings are a bit low and the beds are very small, not ideal for taller than average people. We had a nice week staying there and would stay again. This was a great cottage for location and the dog loved the garden and walks.

This was a great cottage for location and the dog loved the garden and walks. The facilities for a real fire were brilliant. Only downside was the bathroom downstairs but this did not detract from our enjoyment. Had a really good time.

We have really enjoyed our few days stay at October cottage to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday the place was very clean, tidy cosy and warm and we wanted for nothing. We had our friends come and visit and even they loved the place we would recommend the cottage to anyone who was visiting the area
