Beautiful unique hotel. Excellent service from all of the staff! Great location in the heart of Matera, but dead quiet at night which was a nice change from starting centrally in other locations in Puglia. Nice selection of food for breakfast! Highly recommend.

This is one of those rare places where the hospitality outshines even the incredible setting. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like guests in someone's home rather than a hotel — warm, genuinely attentive, and full of insider tips on the best spots in the Sassi to catch sunset, where to eat, and how to navigate Matera's winding stone streets. The rooms themselves are beautiful, carved into the historic Sassi with all the atmosphere you'd hope for. Clean, functional, spacious, comfortable. If you're visiting Matera, stay here.

Standard-huone oli itsessään upea. Henkilökunta todella ystävällistä ja aamupala ok, hienoissa puitteissa. Sijainti oli loistava, mikäli saavut hotellille taksilla tai ennakkoon varatulla kyydillä, kyyti pääsee todella lähelle majoitusta (käytännössä vain yhdet loivat portaat).

Excellent hotel, we stayed in one of the suites. The room was stunning, there are a few quirks to being set in a cave, but it’s part of the experience. Perfect location, the hotel is close walking distance to lots of excellent restaurants yet far enough away to avoid most of the foot traffic. Staff are very friendly, and helpful. When visiting Matera again I will 100% return here. 10 out of 10
