"Beware! This place is awful. The rooms/overwater villas are ok, but the restaurant and common areas are absolutely awful, dirty, dated and run down. The few restaurants in the local area are very basic. Bora Bora doesn't have much to offer aside from luxury resorts. It's hard to get around to other resorts for food, as boat transfer is required ($300 for a 10 min trip) and I doubt that the resorts accept reservations from people that aren't guests... "We returned to Bora Bora 15 years after our honeymoon here. We did the resort stay then but opted for VRBO with our two boys this time. We absolutely loved it. The backyard is right on the beach. We swam in the ocean multiple times daily. We booked all the same excursions that we did before. We were walking distance from a cute little market and enjoyed our fresh baguettes daily.
