Retro Lakefront Cottage with Modern Comforts

Enjoy stunning lake Michigan sunsets steps from a wide, sandy beach at "See the Light". The cozy interior of this 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage provides a nostalgic cottage feel with modern comforts, including AC, heated floors, high speed Wifi and a smart TV. Five minutes over low dunes to the beach, the cottage also offers walkable access to top area attractions including the Little Point Sable lighthouse and Silver Lake State State park. Wineries, local produce and resort attractions are a short drive away.

Cozy main room features an open plan, wood-burning fireplace, panoramic lake views and heated floors. Prepare a home-cooked meal after a day at the beach in the fully equipped kitchen: double oven with convection, vent hood, dishwasher. Kitchen basics, dishes and flatware provided. Sunroom with heated floors opens fully onto the patio that offers a shaded picnic table. Fire pit in front of the house.

Guest Access
Keyless entry provides security and easy access to the property during your stay. Please enjoy the entire cottage and front yard; shed and ravine behind the property are off-limits.

Beach located across the road, 5-minute walk over two low dunes. Beach is low traffic and feels private, but is public land part of Huron-Manistee National Forest. Additional public beach opportunities a short walk away along the paved road: Little Point Sable State park (5 minute walk). Golden Township Beach (10 minute walk). Parking is available at both beaches but limited at peak times of the summer season.

Other Things to Note
Driveway is paved with gravel and steep. If there are more than 2 cars they must be parked behind one another.
Hot water heater (20 gallons) provides ample hot water for showers and dish washing. Long/many consecutive showers while using dishwasher may temporarily exceed capacity.
Cell service is very limited. The cottage has a cellphone signal booster but depending on your carrier, service may not be available. Activating Wifi calling and using the free provided Wifi network will keep you connected.
See the Light is surrounded by State/Federal land and in a beautiful natural setting. Keeping doors closed and putting food away promptly will minimize the appearance of the insects that are part of any outdoor environment.
For the security of the property, the cottage has a Nest hello doorbell.

Getting Around
Wide sandy beach in front of the cottage is a five-minute walk over two low dunes. Little Point Sable state park is a five-minute walk down the road and offers a paved path (almost) to the beach. Parking is available at the State Park but requires a fee during the summer months and can be limited at peak times. Golden Township Beach is a 10-minute walk down the road and offers free parking on a first come, first serve basis and is also limited at peak times. Parking for 3 cars available in the driveway, no street parking is allowed.

Groceries, gas, restaurants and activities are available during the summer season a 10-minute drive away to the Silver Lake area. During the Fall, Winter and early Spring, these amenities are located most closely in Hart, MI, a 20-minute drive.
