The locale of the home and the intentionality of the decor made our stay a great home away from home. There was plenty of space and we added touches that fit our family needs.
The owners were communicative before and throughout our stay. The home is as pictured, with lovely decor. Each room had a distinct Memphis vibe, my family got a good sense of Memphis culture through the owner's careful design. The beds were very comfortable.
The home is minutes away from grocery shopping, the University of Memphis, and midtown. It is also a very short drive from Beale Street and the historical Lorraine Motel, which several of my family members wanted to visit before they left.
My aunt, who is 74, was adamant about having enough space to move easily around the kitchen, as we cooked a traditional Thanksgiving feast. The butcher block island provided additional counter space, and the pantry held all of the extra accouterments needed to produce a full spread that fed the family and a few visitors throughout the day.
We were all excited about spending time in the backyard where there was space for lounging, enjoying conversation around the firepit, having drinks, and even soaking in the small heated pool. The weather, however, did not permit such opportunities; nevertheless, we were able to gather in the area around the fireplace to close out our time with our family poetry slam night.
The owners politely handled all incidentals privately and professionally.
