Wonderful gem by the sea

Our stay at Cassa Huul Kiin was every thing we expected.The host Lizette could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Any problems that we encountered (which were few) were resolved very quickly.The unit is located less than a minutes walk to the beach.We would recommend Cassa Huul Kiin to future guests without reservation.

the best little property on the gulf

we had such a good time there! the location is phenomenal, communication with the owners is a breeze, and the place had everything we needed. the area is quiet, and we had the beach to ourselves practically the entire time. lizette and her husband were the bests hosts we ever had, we got in late and they waited to greet us! would stay there again, and again, and again.

Wow!!! The home is very well equipped with all you need in a kitchen, swimming pool, outdoor living in front of the home on the ocean & outdoor living in the back allowing for more privacy but still with a small ocean view. You are about 30 big steps to the oceans edge with constant ocean waves! Location is fabulous but if you don’t have a car bring your walking legs! Walking is our thing so for us the location was everything we wanted! Just when you think it can’t get any better, the Hosts are absolutely amazing! Lizette was always fast to respond to any request or question! We rent through VRBO often & having never had such fantastic hosts.

Beautiful beach location

The beach house is exactly as shown in pictures. It’s a beautiful location with the beach right outside your patio doors. We also enjoyed the pool. The pool is great for a cool dip and privacy. The palapa and BBQ is a nice touch with green space to relax. The house is very clean and accommodating. The beds are comfortable and the showers have hot water and good pressure. The air conditioner, wifi and tv works very well with English channels. A vehicle is somewhat a necessity since it’s about 2 km walk into the village of Chelem. It’s an easy walk to the village but due to the heat, it can make it difficult to get there. The owners are very nice people and any issues are taken care of quickly. Thank you for a great stay!

Casa Huul Kiin is by far the best

Out of the 5 different rental properties we have stayed at in this area. This is by far the best property. Beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice!

Casa Huul Kiin is a lovely beach side home with unlimited and endless views of the Gulf of Mexico. The owners of Casa Huul Kiin will certainly make you feel it is your home away from home and welcome you in like family. Highly recommend!

We will be back! Beautiful property, lovely beach, all features as presented in the listing. We arrived to a very thoughtful welcome basket and felt at home right from the start. Excellent communications with the property owner and really didn’t want to leave. Our daughter slept in the hammock almost every night which I know she will be eager to tell her friends. Chelem was lovely and easy access to Progresso and Merida. So much to do and see, and having a home base right on the beach is true paradise!

Lovely home in a tranquil location

We visited the Yucatan for a week the end of June and made Chelem our home base for hanging out and exploring. We stayed in two houses and had a terrific time. Casa Huul Kiin was one of the houses and was particularly lovely as it is a tastefully designed and decorated 2 bedroom beach house with a great shaded wading pool, palapa for sitting and watching the sunset and front porch to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Add a always available, excellent host in Lizette the owner and it is a perfect choice for a vacation in the Yucatan. Chelem is also a great base to start from as you get the benefit of a secluded fishing/beach town so,you can wander the beach, hire a fishing guide and eat at lots of good little resteraunts plus you are proximite to everything from Mayan Ruins on the Ruta Puuc, Cenotes galore and colonial Merida.

Can’t say enough nice things!

We just rented Casa Huul Kiin for my birthday and it was the best present ever! When the Pintos say “mi casa es tu casa” they genuinely mean it. Their love of sharing their part of Mexico was evident throughout our stay. Gino gave us an informative tour of the area, helpfully including landmarks to make our navigation easier. Lizette’s warm welcome, including a delicious fruit basket, instantly made us feel special. She also kept us updated on current events we might find interesting. Their son, Gino, was also an amazing ambassador for their venture. The home is as described and comfortable. It is truly a relaxing place. After staying at VRBOs for many years, I have to say this is the best managed I’ve experienced. Thanks, again, Pintos for a wonderful stay. We hope to see you again! Linda Johnson and Jim Broomfield

Peaceful, active leisure

First, Owners Gino and Lizette are exceptionally accommodating hosts. Present for our arrival, they gave us the lay of the land. Lizette provided lots of local options for things to do in the area. The home was comfortable and peaceful with direct beach access. I took advantage of the mornings taking runs into town for exercise and enjoying coffee or breakfast I Chelem. The pool was comfortable both day and night with great lighting for the nighttime. We felt safe in the area and were a little surprised by the number of Americans and Canadians we met locally. There was a problem with the water flow which was handled immediately without question. Finally, departure instructions to close up the house were easy too. Gino and Lizette would have assisted with this too however, our flight was very early in the morning. The house is close to town with an easy drive to Mérida, Mayan Ruins and Progreso! We agree we will be back!! Mil gracias!

Excellent Home!!!

Lizette and Gino are the best hosts we've had yet after many years of renting vacation homes!! Beautiful, kind and friendly people ready to help with any issue. Very welcoming! The house itself is extremely well equipped, better than most we've stayed at with things like electric juicer, blender, lots of food storage containers and proper cooking utensils. Many places have only the basics but this kitchen was excellent. Yes, as many have said there is quite low water pressure but I'm certain that is the infrastructure in the area NOT the house. Home owners can only do so much. The property is incredibly quiet for the most part, the first weekend we were there was a long weekend and a number of families came into the surrounding homes most of which were empty through the weekdays. Even so, nothing coming even close to crowded by any means, you just lose a bit of the extreme quiet. The beach and the water here were lovely and clean. I was not fond of the fact that it was almost constantly windy but that is the case on many Caribbean coasts and the reason it is comfortable at night without air conditioning. The house is very nicely equipped in terms of security (though I felt the entire area very, very safe). The surrounding area was mainly quiet and not too hard to find groceries etc. with a rental car. There were some restaurants we found on Google that when we went there, they were not open (even though Google said they were ), we gathered that since this area is 'cottage country' for people who live inland, and mainly is occupied in July and August, things are very quiet during the winter. (note: BEST restaurant in the area - Crabster in Progresso, we went there about 4 times as it was heads and tails above the rest. ) Overall, we were very pleased, the house, beach, yard, pool, furniture, linens.... everything was lovely and very good value. Lizette and Gino, thanks so much for your hospitality!

Calming, Relaxing Home on the Beach

Lizette and Gino, the owners are such wonderful, kind people. We arrived at Casa almost 3 hours later due to car problems in Cancun after landing. After an exhausting day and thank heavens for GPS, (for the last 15 mins.) we arrived and were greeted by smiling faces and warm hugs that instanly relaxed us. Lizette said to consider the Casa "our home” and enjoy all that it offers. We were shown the running of the house, and a welcoming tray of fruits, bag of coffee, small staples and cold beer in the fridge. A nice touch! There is a T.V., DVD, and stereo unit. Casa Huul is right on the beach, clean and beautifully decorated and is equipped with everything that you need. Of course you buy your own groceries. What a very spacious home with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms, and a hammock that you could move anywhere in the house or on the patios. A living room, dining room and four outside areas to chose to relax in. There is a raised Palapa in the back that gives you a view from above, an area below it with table and chairs with a BB.Q., and a smaller sitting area at the back/side by your very own pool! We moved when the wind chased us. We were staying there during the “Super-moon” and the strong North winds so only got into the ocean 2-3 times. Lizette gave us some suggestions of restaurants, grocery stores, places of interest, etc., as well as some phamplets left on the counter. There is a very small village about 5 mins away and a larger one in Progresso about 15 mins away that has grocery stores and banks. We went to the AKAI grocery store as there was an HSBC bank across the street. We also used the ATM machine at the Naval Base (2nd entrance) that was 7 mins away. Any small problems or issues we only needed to send a quick email and Lizette and Gino were there and it was handled. We can’t thank them enough for all their help when we ran into trouble with our Visa and banking. Lizette, I so enjoyed our many chats. Certainly a relaxing vacation made possible with all the wonderful ammenities provided and two personable, caring people who truly want you to enjoy Casa Huul - House of Sunshine. Hope to return one day!

Paradise Found

Lizette and her family were such gracious hosts for my family. We found the home clean with all the things that we needed. It was exactly as pictured, steps outside your door is the most beautiful beach and refreshing pool. Communication and assistance from everything to Covid testing and locations of things to do and see were more than we could ask for. Any issues were immediately addressed to our satisfaction. We found that we could enjoy the true Mexico experience when we ventured away from our home, which was preferable to the all-inclusive type experience we've had on prior vacations. Having said that, please be prepared to not flush any paper products and not drinking/brushing with the tap water. It's not much of an adjustment for the beautiful trade-offs right outside your door. Our family really enjoyed the breezy nights out by the pool, playing cards and enjoying each other's company. Also visit the Mayapan ruins even if you see Chichen Itza and I also highly recommend visiting the Cenotes at Hacienda Mucuyche. We found everyone we came in contact with to be very kind and helpful despite the language barrier. This was a perfect place to call home and a week just wasn't long enough!

Nice Beach and yard

Lizette and Gino were lovey and a pleasure to deal with. They were both very responsive and really wanted to ensure a wonderful stay. The beach infront is one of the nicest and can easily walk in both directions even at high tide. It is nice and quiet at night for a good nights sleep, yet easy enough to walk into town for supplies. The house was well equipped.

Relaxation is spelled "Casa Huul Kiin"

The property is exactly as advertised and the owners, Lizette and Gino, are real pros. They greeted us as you would greet a family member and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. This property has the most relaxing atmosphere of any of our past rentals. The building amenities are great and the beach is at your doorstep. The neigboring town has lots of great eating places but if you want to cook the kitchen has all the necessary tools. A gentleman stopped by our beach house one day selling shrimps, lobster etc. We had no spices but we did have some butter and tossed a mess of prawns into a fry pan with some butter. Heavenly. We loved the place.

Fantastic Home and Communication!

We had an excellent two-week stay at Casa Huul Kin. The house is exactly what we were looking for-in front of a beautiful beach with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful Mayan Pool! We loved having breakfast each morning on the patio facing the ocean! Lizette is also true professional-she communicated above average from the time we booked, to the time that we were in the house, right through to checkout. What is more, Lizette and her husband Gino are kind and warm people. Lovely home on a beautiful beach, Lizette and Gino wonderful hosts

The Casa is lovely, great patio to sit and watch the ocean and drink morning coffee. The palapa and front seating area great for breezy afternoons. Pool is lovely, cool in January but very nice as the temperatures climb. Lizette and Gino and family made us feel very welcome and were attentive to any small problems that arose. They also accommodated to sets of additional family guests. We are booked to come back next year. Very relaxing vacation, we had a wonderful time.

A wonderful family vacation was made even more memorable by the tremendous experience of staying at Casa Huul Kiin. Sunshine filled days ended with a warm breeze and sounds of waves as we went to sleep. Amazing and beautiful accommodations are just the begining in describing Casa Huul Kiin. The beautiful infinity pool added to the wonderful ambiance of the home. I'm going back for sure!! A wonderful 12 days at Casa Huul Kiin !!

The moment we arrived at Casa Huul Kiin, we were met by Lizette and Gino, who took the time to give us a great tour of this wonderful place. We felt like it was "our" place for 12 great days. A basket of fresh fruit and beverages awaited us. Along with a nice booklet, thoughtfully written out, with places to go and eat at. A really nice touch for Americans like us. The town of Chelem is a very friendly and we felt very safe. The Yucatan in general is a great experience. We logged almost 1800 km on our rental car exploring it. Always coming home to a wonderful Sunset, the sound of waves crashing on the beach and, a cool breeze. On the few days we were too tired to explore, we took advantage of the very nice beach and Mayan pool. My favorite spot was the big hammock outside. My Wife, Peggy would read her book while gazing out at the beautiful water. Then a trip into Chelem for supper. I loved the Pescado Frito (fried fish) and ate it often. We even cooked fresh seafood brought up from Campeche, a couple of times. Another sweet thing lizette arranged for us. The seafood was very fresh and very well priced. Speaking of Lizette and Gino, on the few times we needed to reach them, all we had to do was text them. A response was usually the same hour, if not instant. My advice on this area is, take it all in !! The Mayan ruins, the Spanish missions, the market section in Merida on Sunday, the Choco Story museum in Xucmal and, so many more places. Enter this fascinating area of Mexico with a sense of adventure and patience. Life here is slower and the roads are sometimes not very well marked. But, that is what vacation memories are made of.
