We stayed here while exploring the Grand Junction area and it was perfect. Close to Powderhorn ski resort and less than an hour from Colorado Monument. Was very clean and had plenty of housewares. Great for families.
Great place, house is comfortable and cool in July. Excellent location to explore Grand Mesa and Colorado national monument. Not many tourists at all.

We enjoyed our stay at this relaxing cabin. It is in a good location for exploring the Grand Mesa. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked. I really enjoyed the gazebo by the stream. We played board games in the evening, and enjoyed seeing the wildlife.
This has become our favorite getaway. The cabin is impeccably clean, very nicely decorated and very serene. I would highly recommend whether you’re having a couples getaway or bringing the family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is welcoming inside and out. Love there are so many options for relaxing outdoors. Our favorite was morning coffee in the gazebo watching the wildlife stroll through the yard. Thank you for sharing your lovely lodge and hope to stay again when in the area.
Beautiful property right off the highway yet secluded. Deer passed through everyday and we enjoyed the outside sitting areas. Biggest downside… we just didn’t get to spend as much time as we liked as we were out doing things everyday… but great relaxing environment at the end of every day of our vacation.
We really enjoyed our stay very much in your beautiful home and grounds! There was plenty of room for all 6 of us and accomodations were excellent! The grounds were awesome as well. We ventured out several times to walk along your property...enjoying the stately trees, gorgeous flowers, and rushing stream. You have an oasis that is second to none...
Truly a slice of heaven on the Western Slope. Great location for hiking, and an easy drive to Palisade. Watched the deer every morning on the property. Enjoyed relaxing in both gazebos and the babbling brook sang us to sleep every night. Thank you for sharing your lodge with us.
We enjoyed the Moose Lodge. The cabin is roomy and comfortable.
We especially liked the gazebo overlooking the creek and the master shower with the 2 separately controlled shower heads. There are many comfortable decks to relax at. The lodge is just off of CO-65 so there is a little road noise but not major disturbance for us.
Otherwise great place for family adventure.
Secluded home with a flowing creek and wildlife, a great place to unplug! There is one neighbor but due to the dense foliage I never saw them. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to explore the Grand Mesa National Park.
This is a great place. Very unique property. We had a mother moose with twins walk through the back yard. The only draw back was no washer and dryer. We would stay there again, just bring more clothes.
This was the perfect property for our family to stay at while attending a wedding in powderhorn. It provided more than just a place to rest our heads and was a vacation with in itself. We enjoyed using the VCR for our daughters and exploring in the yard. Plenty to keep them busy. We especially enjoyed the painting in the living room. Black out curtains in the master bedroom would have allowed me to sleep in a little longer other than that it is most restful and peaceful place.
My husband and I take my mother on a road trip every year. This year she turned 96 so wasn't up for a super long trip. We decided on the Palisade area to visit Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument and the Peach Festival. This lodge was the perfect home base. The downstairs bedroom and bath were perfect for her and we had our own room and bathroom upstairs. We loved watching the wildlife while having breakfast in the morning and sitting in the gazebo at the end of the day. We had difficulty with cell & wifi service, too. It was a bit of an inconvenience but we managed. All in all, it was a great trip!
I’m still buzzing from staying at this home. It is now my favorite place on VRBO. From the way it’s nestled amongst a forest of varied kinds of trees to the sitting pavilion overlooking the creek, this property is heaven. I did not meet the owners and only had minimal communication but you can tell when you walk through the front door you would love to visit with them. The place was immaculately clean and they way they have it decorated was a little like staying in a museum full of period furniture and wall decorations. It was a bit warm outside but the swamp cooler worked wonderfully. Each night we had a deer right in front of the living room window enjoying the, very well groomed and landscaped, mountain style yard. We had so much fun watching 3 VHS movies in the old school VCR and tube style tv. Brought back some delightful memories. The VHS collection was wonderful. I could go on and on. We will surely be back and not just once. Thank you so much to David and Deese for letting us enjoy your amazing home. Oh, and by the way, if your hand carved mantle means what I think it does, a huge congratulations on 50 years is in order.
We wanted to spend a few days hiking on Grand Mesa and this is the perfect location to do that! We could get to so many hikes from here, and it is completely private - which is usually the most important factor to us - so we had evenings all to ourselves (and the mule deer). The cabin is obviously the former family home of the owners. It has not been updated since the 1970s. While it made my husband and I have fond memories of our childhood, it was a distinct departure from the cleaner and more modern décor that our kids are used to. While it is a home that is still being cared for lovingly, both the home and the yard could use some professional help in offering a cleaner and tidier getaway to guests. Also, while we loved all the classic movie options in the closet of the guest bedroom and spent a long time "window shopping," the location of the screen in the same closet meant that they were unwatchable for a family of six. We found that disappointing.
My family stayed at this house and it was awesome. It is in a convienient location to fishing, which was our main reason for coming. The house was clean and had awesome outdoor areas to hang out in. We loved the little river that flows through the property! We would have loved some closable and/or blackout blinds in the bedrooms so we could sleep in longer in the mornings. The lack of wifi and even cellular for most of the trip was a nice way to enjoy the nature and disconnect from the world, but a tad frustrating when needing to look up things for the trip. One other minor thing is we wanted to use the basketball hoop, but the greenery has taken over under the hoop. Overall, we loved the house and would recommend this house to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay.
The property is a hidden gem, however, you can hear vehicles off of the HWY if you are in the back area of the house. With that said, there is a gazebo near a creek and talk about seclusion! Also, the house is well arranged and I felt very comfortable.
