Lake Michigan Get-A-Way

We enjoyed our stay at The Place To Bee. We took our grandsons with us and they loved riding in the golf cart every evening. We also enjoyed having a campfire in the fire pit after a day of swimming. We’ll be back again !

We had everything we needed at the house and the Beachwalk resort. The house was clean and very spacious for our family of 4. We enjoyed the pool and beach at the resort. Great Family Vacation

Love the Beachwalk community- wonderful beach, pool, and use of the golf cart. The rental was spacious and offered plenty of room for all. The unit was mostly clean but could use some attention to detail on a few things. The downstairs bathroom curtain is stained and needs to be replaced. The sheets in the loft are stained and I had to wash them to be sure they're clean. All area rugs are dirty and need to be replaced. These are easy and very low cost fixes that would make this unit even better.

Really cute place

My family and I had a wonderful stay over fall break. My kids loved the upper loft area and my wife enjoyed a glass of wine every night out in the screened in patio area. We had everything we need and it was great to have the golf cart!

A great week!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 9th year staying in Beachwalk and we will be back again next year! We love the neighborhood, the proximity to the beach, and having the golf cart adds a little excitement. We have stayed in a different house each year. The Place to Bee had just the right amount of space for our family of 5, everything you could need, and is close to Sandcastle Park. However, the beds were only full size and not comfortable, the couches also needed replaced (uncomfortable and covered in pet hair - we even tried to vacuum them), and the hot water lasted about 10 minutes so there were lots of cold showers. I would not stay in this house again, but it was nicely decorated, fully stocked, and in a good location. It also came with a golf cart and a shed full of beach toys, chairs, kid bikes, and wagons which is a plus!

Hate leaving bad reviews, but we were disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Place to Bee is a nice home and we found it as pictured. Nicely outfitted kitchen, beach supplies, and games. Overall, however, we were disappointed with the cleanliness, a major ant problem, and the response of the Beachwalk staff. Here are the details: When we arrived at the home, we noted the following cleanliness issues: Hairs in the bathtub, potholders in the kitchen drawer caked with food chunks, dusty corners in every room, the master bedroom fabric bed frame was soiled with yellow and brown stains, there were only old/used sponges for cleaning/washing dishes, a slatted wood piece of furniture in the master bathroom was caked between the slats with dust and hair (and this was the only surface for storing toiletries as there was no counter top). Additionally, the house has a major ant problem. We were killing ants and/or finding dead ants everywhere. When I swept the floor (which I had to do multiple times), I swept up dozens of dead ants.After checking in on Sunday evening, I called Monday morning to the office to report these issues. I was told by the staff person that she would discuss my concerns with her manager and they would follow up. By Wednesday midday, when no one had followed up, I stopped into to the office and related the entire list of concerns again. I was asked rather brusquely by the staff person, "What do you want me to do? Refund some of your cleaning fee?" While that was fine and appreciated, there was no apology for the condition of the property nor for the lack of follow up. She did not write anything down, nor did I get a sense that she planned to relay my concerns to the cleaning staff.Other notes: The house is in the far back corner of the Beachwalk property, which gives it a bit more privacy and shade, but it's a trek to the pool and beach. The Beachwalk coffee shop had hours listed of 7a-7p daily, but was never open while we were there.

Fantastic place to BEE

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this home for a Weds-Sat stay and it was wonderful. We have stayed at quite a few places over the past few years at Beachwalk and this home was the most well-appointed yet. Great kitchen amenities and also wonderful layout for our family of 4. The golf cart and beach-shack also are stocked with great supplies and we really enjoyed using the grill and the screened porch was lovely. We like being a little farther back in the neighborhood with quick access to the playground and grocery. We wouldn’t change anything about the place and will definitely be returning. Regarding Beachwalk overall we were really pleased this year and happy to see a lot of progress, upkeep and updates. It looks like there is new fresh signage, great paths and identified amenities and the new building is great. We always look forward to our annual summer trip and it has been the best vacation spot for our young family. It’s so great to have a place we can return to and build family traditions.
