Our private patio is the envy of the neighborhood, where you can enjoy your outdoor meals in relaxed comfort. Evenings are for stories and s'mores around the easy gas fire pit - no smoky, smelly hassle with firewood. Enjoy your Lake Michigan beach walks with a beverage in hand, barbecues on the oversized Weber grill, and the other two covered porches -- as private owner-operators, we have tried to deliver the perfect blend of convenience and elevated comfort for everyone.

    This house is one of the original homes in Sheridan Beach. We have fully updated and upgraded the property with tasteful furnishings throughout, for the ideal comfortable getaway for family groups, corporate retreats, and reunions. Unlike any other property in the area, you'll enjoy the perfect blend of a convenient walk to the water's edge, plentiful modern bathrooms and privacy for your extended family, along with a beautiful 800sf private "terrazza" with natural gas firepit and grill. With designer-grade finishes, and tasteful, travel-themed artwork throughout, you will enjoy an elevated and relaxing stay, just like our many returning guests, year after year. Only 60 minutes from Chicago by car, or 90 minutes from Midway Airport.

Huge home super close to the beach

It's rare to find a large home that can comfortably accommodate so many different couples and their children, but this one did! Loved the large back patio, two long picnic tables, and fire pit. It was a great place for all to gather and enjoy the weekend!

We had the best week at La Terrazza

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Craig was easy to work with and his communication was the best. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the walk to the beach was so easy (even for my 82 year old mom). I highly recommend La Terrazza to any family looking to enjoy a summer in Michigan (Indiana)!!!

Friends to the Dunes

Wonderful visit to the Dunes and Lake Michigan City. The VRBO was perfect for our stay. The owners have put a lot of attention to the details to ensure your stay if a great one. College Family Reunion

Great stay at La Terrazza! We had a large group of 14 adults and 7 children (ages 1 - 5) and it was very comfortable for all. Plenty of space on both first floor and second floor as well. Basement is recently finished with tons of storage space, kitchen and wash area. We did not need to leave the area because the beach is just a short walk away, but the local recommendations for groceries and take out were well appreciated. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

Great House for a Family Holiday

Our family of 19 people, ages 5 to 73, enjoyed our stay in Michigan City. The house had everything we needed... lots of plates, flatware and cooking stuff! Plenty of room for us to spend time together and privacy when we needed it. The homeowners were great and responsive. The house was clean and tidy! Will be going there again next year!

Family vacation

From the time we reserved this home and throughout our visit, Craig was very responsive to all of our questions. Our family of 15 (8 adults/7 children-8yrs and under) was able to relax and enjoy each other with plenty of bedroom and bath space for each individual family. The proximity to the beach and the private back patio are bonuses. The kitchen may be small, but it's very well equipped for a large group and the dining space is ample. Should we ever return with a large group to the area, we would definitely want to stay at La Terrazza again.

Great family getaway

Our group really enjoyed their time at La Terrazza. This is an older home that has been renovated thoughtfully. The kitchen is not enormous but it is very functional and well-stocked. It was great to have six couples in the house who all had their own bathroom. The best part is the location - a very easy and safe walk to the beach access with mats along the dunes to help get wagons to the beach. We had some issues with appliances being finicky, but the owners were very responsive in helping us get them working. I would definitely recommend this property to any family looking for a Lake Michigan vacation.

Good for families

We were very lucky to find a place like this that has so many bedrooms and bathrooms and also close to the beach. Check in/out instructions were very clear and detailed and we knew exactly where and how to find things. House was very clean and organized. Several rooms and bathrooms have been nicely renovated. There were at least one bedroom and bathroom whose locks don’t work and several doors that should be replaced. A few mattresses were squeaky and uncomfortable. But overall we appreciated the care and thought that went into making the house as comfortable as possible for a large group like ours.

Excellent location and perfect for a large group

The property location is amazing - just steps from the beach path and near grocery stores and other conveniences. The house is well-designed for large groups - plenty of extra blankets, towels, closets, drawers, seating, table space... little details like a second refrigerator, two coffee pots, two toasters, two ovens, large platters and serving ware made it easy to cook for a large group. Everyone in the group commented about how thoughtfully designed the house and amenities are. The living room is cozy - fireplace, plenty of seating, board games and books. It was too cold to take advantage of the patio, but there is a grill and three large picnic tables plus other seating. Ample parking - we had seven cars that could fit in the two driveways. I highly recommend this for a large group looking for a well-stocked vacation home rental.

Great Stay in Michigan City

This house is nice. Craig was very easy to deal with … we had six adult couples that stayed in the house. Each couple had their own room and bathroom … and that still left several empty bedrooms. We hung out at the fire pit on Friday night - the porch area behind the house is a great spot. Also, this place is literally steps from the beach. The house was clean and had plenty of supplies for cooking too. We needed a slow cooker for dinner on Friday night - I texted Craig and within three mins he texted back with the exact location of one in the house. We would come back to the same house for sure - we had a very positive experience.

So close to the beach!

This property was very welcoming. You can tell the owners spent some time and money bringing this old house up to the modern requirements of today. Multiple bathrooms, all newly updated. A hodge-podge room layout that allows you to get as many bodies in as possible, which worked perfect for our group of 22. A beautiful outdoor setting that allows a big group to eat at the same table with a gas fireplace and sting lighting to help the ambiance. Natural gas Webber grill is also available for use. Beautiful updated kitchen with everything a chef would need to make a delicious meal. We had a great time and would recommend this property for any larger group looking to get away for a weekend.
