Fun long weekend

We really enjoyed the property. Even though the house is dated, there are a lot of little perks: beautiful view, extra drinking water, coffee, snacks, and clean white linens. The walk to the beach is a little more strenuous than expected. I would visit here again!

Location Can’t Be Beat

Gorgeous view of Lake Michigan from the comfort of the enclosed porch and easy access to the beach. The house was roomy and comfortable with plenty of room for 5 adults and a toddler to spread out. A quick drive to several good restaurants and the outlet mall. We cooked a meal in the fully equipped kitchen, too. A+++++ experience.

Fantastic home and location!

The location is incredible with amazing views. We spent most of the time in the wonderful sunroom with huge view of the lake. The house is lovely with really thoughtful touches for anyone's needs. My husband and I with our 2 dogs had a great time. Easy access to the beach and quiet residential neighborhood. Perfect!

Absolutely Fabulous

My 3 grown children and I stayed here for one week. We absolutely loved it the entire time. The views were spectacular and the lake breeze coming in fabulous. We enjoyed our daily walks to the beach. The only thing I wish was different about our vacation here was - I wish I could have rented it for two straight weeks. I highly recommend staying here!!

The views even on rainy days is amazing. We stay because it is a clean and quiet place to relax. Nothing better than napping on the front porch. The amenities are really good and everything is clean and well cared for. It would be a great beach house for a group or family and I could see staying with a few friends. It’s also a great value!!

Fabulous Beach House!

If you are looking for the quintessential beach house vacation, look no further! The house is adorable and the views are spectacular—even better than the pictures! The walk to the beach is easy—and the beach is beautiful. We took many long walks on the beach and the weather was warm enough (apparently hot for mid-May) to swim. Despite the unusually warm weather, we did not need the air conditioning because the breezes in the house were delightful. We are already planning a return visit in the fall.

Great beach house

We had a lovely family vacation in the dune beach house in Michigan City. It had an absolutely great view of the lake/sunsets. We comfortably slept six teens/adults. The AC was great, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was easy to use and clean up, the outdoor shower was handy, the outdoor seating and fire ring were great. And Michigan City is a charming little town (very quiet!). The beach is absolutely great (and this is coming from an East Coast native). I would definitely return to both the house and Michigan City.

Great view of lake

My sisters and I enjoyed the house very much. It was clean and in a great location. The house was fully stocked with essentials. The view of the lake was fabulous. The only downside was the walk back up the hill to the house from the beach. But that is to be expected in Michigan City. Any questions we had were answered in a friendly and timely manner.

Comfy and cozy for Thanksgiving getaway

The view is so calming - I really enjoyed looking out at the lake. And only takes a few minutes to walk to it. We made use of the full-sized kitchen and the large dining table. Beds were comfy. It was nice for the kids to each have their own room. It was chilly out but the home had plenty of heat. Great location. Consider adding one soft chair to the living room. The couch is great though. Will return.

Girls's Weekend Redux

Our five lifelong ride-or-die friends from around the country got together for the weekend, staying at the beach house in Michigan City. It. Was. Perfect. Perfect weather, perfect spot. 10/10, would book again. We loved that chairs, towels, etc. were available to use, especially with the beach wagon. House is super-clean and has everything. Communications and directions were excellent. This was our second year at this property. It was super quiet bc ND and the Bears were both out of town. Perfect!

Family getaway

We have been coming to Michigan City for several years. This property was in a great location and perfect for our family. The check in process was easy and the house was just as described. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed hiking at the Indiana Dunes State Park and drove the 15 min drive to New Buffalo for a day. Swingbellys was great for dinner and Dunebillies is always good for breakfast. My only issue was the weeds were so overgrown by the picnic table that we were unable to enjoy dining outside and they made it difficult to enjoy the view of the lake. The weeds were also hanging over the steps to the beach pathway, making it difficult to walk down the steps. Everything else made for a great family vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

Summer vacation

Spectacular Views from both the house and nearby beach. While a short walk the dunes and uphill return will challenge you but it will also help you work off the good vacation meals. The one thing I would have appreciated would have been a small bar of soap for the shower. It may have been mentioned in the very detailed information to bring your own. We brought shampoo but missed any memo on soap. No biggie really, went and purchased some. Know this truly is a 100 year old property and the stairs are very steep but once you make it upstairs there is a beautiful view from a sitting room and one of the bedrooms! Don’t put you 6ft plus family members upstairs as the bathroom is really tiny. Our son who lives in Chicago called it an “city bathroom” Overall a very nice stay!
