“There was nothing we didn't like about the Hotel. The whole hotel has had a massive upgrade / renovation and for the cost of the accommodation, it represents top value. We ate at the restaurant , ( reluctantly ) after reading some less favorable reviews , and decided the reviewers, who had left those reviews must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. “**Disappointing anniversary stay** We booked Lanelay Hall over three months in advance for a special anniversary and were looking forward to the luxury boutique experience advertised. We had hoped that booking so far ahead would allow us to be allocated one of the more desirable rooms. Unfortunately, we were allocated Clock Tower 1, an accessible Deluxe Room. Although the hotel has confirmed this was the Deluxe category we booked, the room itself was very disappointing. It felt clinical rather……

“The location is remote, peaceful and lovely. It's an old building and full of character with huge, comfortable rooms. All the staff were helpful. Breakfasts were a little limited, but adequate. We didn't enjoy the one dinner we had, but it was good value. Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its excellent value accommodation and location.”

“The only satisfactory feature was the restaurant à la carte food for dinner. The room was very poor for a Wyndham property. There was dirt and stains in the room walls, the cleanliness of the sheets was questionable, the bathroom walls were dirty, the tub caulking was poorly done and very grimy, the floor tile grout was dirty/stained around the tub, the bed creaked with the slightest movement, the provided glasses were covered in fingerprints, and the tea kettle had not been cleaned in some……

“We had a fantastic stay at the butchers arms. They were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with another hotel and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay. Very clean place. Bed was super comfy had a fantastic nights sleep. We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you Andrew and all the team for looking after us. 😊😊”
