“Best Stay of Our Costa Rica Trip — Malekus Mountain Lodge This was, hands down, the best place we stayed during our 10 days in Costa Rica. Not only is the property itself beautiful, but we had the pleasure of being the only guests, so Roger and Rosy treated us like family. They helped us shape our itinerary to have a more authentic, local experience, and honestly ended up defining our whole trip. The rooms were comfortable — we had the one with a double bed plus a separate room with a bunk bed,……

“Beautiful and welcoming place to stay The owner is warm and friendly Breakfast was delicious”

“We loved our stay at this property, we were shown around by Angie who seemed to be the animal whisperer. Wherever we went we saw all sorts of animals, monkeys, sloths, toucans, humming birds and so many more. It’s a beautiful paradise and we loved every minute we had here. We were sad to have to move on when we did. Thankyou so much for looking after us so well.”

“This was a great place to truly experience the beauty of this part of Costa Rica. It is a long drive and one must be careful to take the right roads but we had a great experience and wish we could have stayed longer.”

“An absolute gem of a place. It is just as rustic as the photos suggest and that’s exactly the charm. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, immaculate property, stunning gardens. Also the best night sleep of our stay in Costa Rica hands down.”

“The property was quiet, away from town a few minutes. The hosts were so friendly and wonderful to us. The bungalows were in very good shape and very clean. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone!”

“Excellent stayall around! The family who maintains the place was very friendly and a joy to talk to. It was a perfect way to spend our first evening in Costa Rica! Breakfast was delicious!”

“This is a lovely place the breakfast was great all fresh ingredients and made locally. The rooms have everything you need, no TV, enjoy the nature.”

“It was just a great experience, photos exactly as it was.”

“Une vue superbe, dans un coin calme. La chambre est grande avec une superbe terrasse. C’est calme et bien équipé, avec un accueil très attentionné”

“The nicest people and wonderful hosts. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughter’s bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos. It was the sweetest thing and so special for our family. It was such a kind gesture and it set the tone for the rest of our time there. Breakfast was a lovely production. We entered the dining room and they just started bringing out entree after entree, fruit, eggs, gallo……

“This is a perfect place to stay for anyone planning to do the Tenorio Volcano hike, as the trail is walking distance from your room. Cecilia was an incredible hostess, diligent and super friendly. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. No complaints at all❗️”

“We really enjoyed our stay! Jorge made sure we had a pleasant stay and the staff was really nice. The unit we had was basic but clean, of a good size and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent (you can choose from 3 options) and we also had dinner there twice (there is nothing around), which was also good and well priced. We enjoyed the walking trails. It was a very relaxing stay. Note that the road to get to the ranch is bad so you need a 4x4. Even though it was remote, it was a great base……

“The entire staff was amazing. What a peaceful property and lovely people :))”
