“The room is comfortable and perfect for one person. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located near the train station. However, a downside is the lack of a lift to the room, so light luggage is recommended. It would also be an improvement to have a desk and chair in the room.”

“This was an amazing experience! These people have been doing this for 40 years, and have it down! Hospitality is second nature to them! Everything was lovely! They gave us the family suite so we wouldn’t have to bring our luggage upstairs. Hilary made the most perfect breakfast and it was so lovely to chat with her. Highly recommend this place for home away from home! Definitely going back again!”

“The hotel has been recently refurbished and was delightful and the bedroom excellent. The staff were so helpful and to park in the hotel car park was a bonus. Just a short walk into Salisbury was perfect. The only downside was the hotel restaurant as the food was very disappointing. The food had obviously been frozen and did not resemble the pictures on the website. There was only one other couple eating there so maybe other guests chose to eat locally. However I would recommend staying there……

“Had to ask for a room change on arrival as too many steps at various intervals on way to room E.g bathroom had 2 step drop into the room. Not ideal for elderly couple. Having said rhat one has to remember that it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. This was our second stay there and will be back .”

“Amazing place to stay. Everything was perfect. Room was beautiful and really spacious and cosy. Nicely decorated and loved the small touches. Had dinner which was really good. Possibly one of the best places we have stayed in UK. Will try and get back for a few nights again”

“Unsatisfactory. No kettle in the room—I had to ask twice. Restaurant service was slow and inattentive. The steak pie had very little gravy, and the same staff member was on her phone at the service counter, so I couldn’t request more. No offer of dessert. The bedroom door emits a mini alarm when opened, which is irritating late at night. The walls are thin, with corridor doors slamming and disrupting sleep. At breakfast, up to five staff were gathered near reception, coming and going for drinks,……

“Did not have breakfast, but evening meal was good. Room was okay but for the three nights we stayed we didn’t get bed made or tea/coffee replenished or the small bin emptied. As for the noise from people using rooms above us it was a nightmare (do not choose room 3) Was not impressed ”
