Peruse the delightful farmers’ markets before exploring the array of shops, restaurants and cafes along the cobbled streets of the historic market town of Morpeth, 8 miles away. The breathtaking coastline of Druridge Bay, 5.5 miles away, stretches for 7 miles and is alive with windswept walks and opportunities for birdwatching amongst the salty sea air. The waterfront town of Amble (9 miles) at the mouth of the River Coquet is perfectly placed for exploring the whole of the Northumberland Coast National Landscape.


Accessed up a set of wooden steps and across the raised deck, a large set of glass doors welcomes you into the inviting open-plan layout, which is bursting with countryside charm. The soft curve of the ceiling creates a wonderfully cocooning ambience, with the distressed wooden cladding throughout adding a sense of heritage and character. The feature wood burner sets the scene for relaxation during the cooler months. Whip up something tasty in the rustic kitchenette and enjoy your efforts seated at the wooden dining table that pulls out from the cleverly constructed raised king-size bed. On a fine evening, throw open the glass doors to the furnished deck to seamlessly blend indoor living with al fresco dining, and relax to the soothing sounds of the surrounding countryside. When evening draws to a close, pull out the wooden step and climb into the raised king-size bed; a fabulous stargazing roof above ensures you can drift off to a great night’s sleep. The picture window with shutters at your feet frames far-reaching rolling rural vistas to wake up to. There’s a separate bedroom to one side of the shepherd’s hut, furnished with a set of bunk beds, each with its own lighting, perfect for children. The sleek and stylish contemporary shower room adds a touch of true elegance.


Outside, the raised, furnished deck boasts rustic outdoor seating where you can sit back with a book or enjoy your morning coffee amongst outstanding views across the Northumbrian countryside. There is gentle lighting on the deck, ideal for evenings spent listening to the birds and watching sunsets, as well as a handy outside shower. Five wooden steps lead down to the delightful lawned garden that boasts a hot tub to unwind in, a fire pit/BBQ and a picnic table, ideal for al fresco dining amongst your unspoilt views. There is ample off-road parking in the shared car park on site, with a wheelbarrow provided for you to take luggage to the shepherd’s hut.
