“The directions were very good and the communication between the owner and client is excellent.”

“Place smelled horrible. Bedsheets were stained. Mold all over the shared bathroom. I found a pair of used underwear beneath my mattress. The place had not been vacuumed in ages. Very shocked Expedia would allow a place like this to remain on their website. ”

“The hotel has an impressive exterior and interesting period decor. We upgraded to a superior double room, but it was disappointing: the heating didn’t work, and the TV signal was unreliable. Parking was challenging, and one staff member at breakfast was rude. Upon returning from a day trip, we found our door left open, putting our belongings at risk, and our room had not been serviced or restocked despite reporting it. A lovely building, but service and maintenance need improvement.”

“The owner of the property wasn’t sure if it had been cleaned and said would find out when we was sat outside didn’t call us back turned his phone off after waiting for half hour we had to travel all the way home spoiled our children’s birthday weekend ”

“Positives - beautiful hotel in great grounds. Had tea in the restaurant which was very good. Bed was huge. Negatives - couldn't get bath to work and my wife was kept awake during the night by noise in room next door. Use of the spa was £20 per person (which I was willing to pay) but was then told we couldn't use it until 5pm. We'd arrived at 3pm with plan to go in spa before our friends arrived later. ”

“Very dated hotel, and not in a rustic way. Room was a decent size but the bathroom left something to be desired.”

“Good value hotel, rooms a little dated but clean. Free parking and good sized car park. A few minutes walk to some other bars and restaurants. A great little village with coffee bars, supermarket etc. A great stopover for manchester airport. Definitely worth a visit.”
