Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay at the beach, but I can't give credit to the condo. This particular condo is in need of some TLC from the owners. The paint on the walls is in poor condition, the carpet is disgusting and stained, and there are MINIMAL utensils/ cookware in the kitchen. While there, the dryer wasn't working, the dishwasher SMELLED awful and something inside of it had melted, so we went all week without a dishwasher. Garden City Realty was responsive and sent a maintenance man to come check it out, though their response took 3 days to get someone there. Lisa (supervisor) was helpful and got maintenance there quickly knowing I had to call 3 times for a response. The master bed mattress is in major need or replacing. There were a few bugs in the condo as well.

The only complaints I have would be the lack of spatulas to cook with and the condition of the mattress on the bed in the beach front master bedroom. It was warped and needs to be replaced. Aside from those two minor things, the place was perfect!

Reviewer Comments: We have been staying at horizon east for around ten plus years spring and fall. This was the one time I thought my new car had been stolen. It had been stolen by predatory towing through the condo association. I am very familiar with the parking pass! I called towing on sat night at 5:20pm he told me I had to get there by 6:00 with $259.00 cash, no credit cards. Sunday they were closed which adds another 80.00 for storage. By miracle I got a cab and arrived at 5:55pm. Paid my cash, when car was pulled around I asked the guy what was that paper on my console? It was my parking pass that had to have come loose when closing door. He said they only had to look on the rear window and dash..It’s sad how this one experience had already affected future time in horizon east. I saw 4 bikes to a spot and golf carts all day in the lot , no passes. I explained my issue to many people who pretty much blamed it on the association at horizon east. One thing you should not worry about when paying a good dollar for a vacation rental is being at the risk of tow trucks payroll the lot. Also the carpeting in the condo is a mess. Horrible! Need upgrades compared to other units in building. Fuse blows if micro wave and toaster oven are used. Silverware barely meets needs of 7

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: you only get 1 parking pass and the overflow is 2 miles away. While we was parking 2 of our cars with overflow passes was towed. The tow company came with a attitude police was called and gave him attitude. Doesn't matter if you are unpacking are not you will be towed. Lot was only 1/2 full. Cost $250 less than a hour we where there. Also no carts in site to take stuff to room.

This was inconvenient having to park away from the condo. I understand that there is not a lot of parking there. Just would consider somewhere else due to parking.

Our hosts were wonderful to allow us to rent for several months and the accommodations met our needs. The ocean front view and music of the ocean were therapeutic and relaxing. The sunrise is spectacular and the moonlight view is breathtaking. The location is great and the walk to the pier so convenient. If we had any need, the realtor company was accommodating and the building manager very personable. Would recommend!

Nice condo but dirty

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Getting into the Myrtle beach/Garden City area the day of check in is a nightmare. I recommend that you arrive the night before and stay in a hotel until your rental is available on Saturday. The condo we stayed in Horizon East 101 is really nice. The owners did a really nice job with the decor / furniture and all of the beds were very comfortable. However, I do have an issue with the Garden City Realty cleaning crew or whoever they hire to clean their properties. None of the top quilts, blankets, or pillow shams were washed, they were all dirty. I know they didn't even take the comforters off the bed because I found a pair of underwear, socks, headphones in a case and an i pad tablet between the footboard and the mattress. Their were also cracker/candy wrappers behind the headboard of the double bed in the kids room. Therefore I know they didn't vacuum. I found candy under the couches and the kitchen drawers were filthy and unorganized. Their was also a piece of chewed gum on the top of my shower door, which I found disgusting. Couch cushions had tons and tons of crumbs, hair and chips under neath of them. I was so turned off at this point that I finally called the office and asked them to send someone over to clean the condo. I left everything for them the way I found it besides the bedding, I wanted that washed before we slept in it, so I washed it ALL myself. I was very unhappy with the cleanliness of the condo. If the owner knew that it was being kept like this I think they would be very unhappy as well. I complained twice to Garden City, but they failed to really acknowledge the fact that It really upset me. I was more angry at the fact that I had paid so much for this dirty weekly rental and they didn't even care.I would recommend this property because the location is wonderful and the condo is really nice, but before you unpack, check for cleanliness.. Oh by the way no working can opener and no sharp knives.

Was a wonderful stay. It would have been nice to have door fob for each couple that was staying in the condo. We ate at the Barbeque House twice, always have to hit River City Cafe and also tried Dead Dog Saloon in Murrells Inlet. Grocery shopping was close. It would have been nice to have 2 parking spaces but I see why they limit you to 1 parking lot is small but we could always find a spot. Had to call for some light bulbs and also the tv in the full size bedroom didn't have a cable box and my son had to use his spectrum app. Carpet in the bedroom could be updated and bathrooms could be updated. Overall the stay was great. I would stay here again.

The condo wasn't as clean as we expected. Things like a hair in the tub, debris on one bath mat, sticky floor counter in some small areas, small splatters on the kitchen walls and cabinet doors all which we could easily clean.

Reviewer Comments: Started out poorly, pool and deck closed first 3 days, next the stairs to the beach closed for 3 days( after the pool was opened) refrigerator shelves broken, kitchen faucet leaking and kitchen floor slick as ice. Garden City reality was quick to fix the last 3 items! We were very happy when the pool and deck opened. Unfortunately, the last 2 days of our 2 week stay, they closed the pool again for a permit payment that was overdue! This is the first time we had an issue with this place. We will stay there again as we made many friends with renters and owners. It really is a nice place! Everyone has an off experience but the Realty was great at fixing our problems. They could not control the damage from the hurricaine Ian.

Our air wouldn't get below 77 degrees, almost all the dishes in the cabinets were dirty. The mattress cover on one of the beds wouldn't close so we had to fight for the cover and the fitted sheet to stay on.

Worst rental experience in 37 years in Garden City

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented January thru March of 2023. The unit was not clean or well maintained. The property management company, Garden City Realty,claims to have inspected the property prior to renting it, and so apparently doesn't require standards of cleanliness or upkeep from owners. Repairs to one toilet and two of three showers were necessary prior to use. Carpets and furnishings were deplorable. Kitchen stocked with unsable utensils, pots and pans, etc. We had to go out and purchase everything we used in the kitchen. Screens for balcony are so rusted they won't close properly and thus are ineffective. The deck and pool, beach access, etc have not been not repaired since the hurricane last October leaving those ammenities unavailable to us. Garden City Realty, although aware of the issues, made no attempt to rectify the situation.
