Great ocean front porch & great room

Reviewer Comments: Great 4 bedroom 2 bath ocean front with covered porch & rockers, 2 outdoor showers underneath, and a hose for spraying off sand on the private deck through the dunes to the beach. Large open kitchen/ living room area. Only negative issue, which may seem petty, is that every knife in the kitchen was dull. We had to buy some sharp knives the 2nd day just to be able to cut tomatoes & limes without cutting ourselves. Not a big deal but often overlooked by owners. Great week and our second year there.

Wonderful Week

A few suggestions would be to fix upstairs shower door, downstairs shower head and tub drain and we have noticed floor in upstairs bathroom is spongy in front of sink. This year we noticed some of the wood under walkway has fallen. May want to check on this. Our week was relaxing and are looking forward to returning next year.

Great location but in need of an update

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay however no one was comfortable in any of the beds. They really need to trade in the $99 special mattress for a little better quality. Everyone from the six-year-old to the 76-year-old complained they could not get a good nights sleep. I woke up with a neck/back cramp so bad by the third day I was rubbing myself down with pain cream instead of suntan lotion.

The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc.Bedrooms were large with large closets. Right on the beach with great views. Lower deck was large and great for morning coffee. Our only problem was not being able to connect to the internet when we arrived, this was fixed but it took several hours, and the cable connection to the TV didn't always work, we had to mess with it every time we wanted to watch tv.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this place. It's older, and some would say dated, but comfortable, clean, and roomy. It's very peaceful in that area in October. We mentioned the poor condition of the window blinds last year and sure enough they were all new this year. If anything we would appreciate firmer mattresses on the main floor. The owners obviously care about the home. We are grateful it survived the storm. We hope to stay there again.MANY THANKS to PAM MCCAULEY at Garden City Realty! She stayed in touch after Hurricane Ian and called us as soon as the house was cleared for rental. This is our third experience with her and we have come to regard her as a friend. It's nice to have a familiar voice and face when it comes time to plan our beach vacation. I am in customer service as well, and people like Pam are the reason you are BEST of The Beach.

Was okay aside from the cockroaches inside the home

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: On my third day at the home, 2 cockroaches were found inside the home alive. A call was made to Garden City Realty multiple times and no one returned my calls. I had to go to the Office and express my concerns with employees there were condescending and told me it was just a Palmetto bug. This is very insulting to me due to me knowing that a Palmetto bug is just another name for the American Cockroach. Also these cockroaches can infest homes unlike what I was told. My concern was them being brought back to my home then me having to pay a fee to rid them from my residence. Very rude and condescending, hope all paying customers aren’t told the same thing. The Palmetto bug is also a known carrier of diseases.

Bathroom updates would be a plus with a walk in shower instead of having to step over into tubs with shower doors. Overall a great time with family. A stick vacuum would also be a plus - broom was available but it’s hard to keep sand swept up - much easier to vacuum. I also had to ask for a mop as we had little people with us, however Garden City Realty was quick to respond the two times I called them. Great realty company!

It was quiet, roomy, private, well cared for, and affordable. Besides, we go for the beach, not the decor. Only 3 of us and always stay in condos. Really loved being in a house this time. Missing 2 window blinds, had to cover with blankets. 2 others only covered half the windows.(A cheap fix folks!) About 50 feet from the back porch to the beach.
