Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great stay and the home is perfect for a large family. Contacted the management company that the bedroom on the left side was warm and found that the vent was covered over when the new floor was installed. Other than that, everything else was fine.

We could have used more silverware for our crew though. The ice maker was a great plus!The house was clean and bug free!The upstairs was open and bright with a beautiful view. The lock to the home was not working properly but with one call Josh came in no time and fixed that quickly. Could not have asked for more.

Bedrooms were spacious and mattresses were comfortable! The new vinyl flooring was great and updated kitchen was very nice. The kitchen needs new pots and pans...there were a few but many need to be tossed. The frig doesn’t have an ice machine so the small ice maker was nice but we still had to buy ice for our crowd. We had ants in one bedroom and in the kitchen...they sprayed but hopefully they came again before new tenants came...still saw them in kitchen. The new walkout to beach was so nice and we loved the porch swing and beautiful porch chairs! Overall, very nice place to stay!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros: great location, love being right on the beach. Nice and quiet, exactly what our family was looking for. Incredible views, especially from top level. Perfect floorplan and space for our group. Good parking. Love the no-splinters deck and walkway all the way out to the sand. Convenient rinse off area. Areas that could be improved: the floors weren't totally clean upon check-in. But really just 2 significant things. First, kitchen supplies. For a house that is advertised to sleep up to 14 people, the bowls and cups/glasses were sparse. The knives were all remarkably dull. And there were a large number of skillets/pans, but nearly all of them were originally non-stick, and currently VERY scratched up and peeling...not what we expected for such a nice home. Countertop ice maker sounded promising in the listing, but really not worth its counter space (only makes 5 or 6 little cubes at a time, which quickly melt if not emptied into the freezer immediately). Second, insect control -- we recognize bugs are always near the beach, but one live, large bug on the first night was unsettling. Other than that, just little caterpillar looking bugs, but quite a few of them throughout the week (some dead, more alive, so we think spraying might need to be increased/improved). Overall, this was a very nice beach house for our family beach week. Would stay here again. Thanks!

The house offered everything we needed to relax and enjoy. The beach is just steps away and the large porches allow panoramic views of the ocean! Customer Service was really great too. We sprung a leak in the kitchen, and a very nice couple came promptly to make repairs. We loved it and are already planning for next year.

Very spacious, pretty much clean. Kitchen was fully stocked. Comfortable beds. Twin room has no ac as vent must have been covered by flooring. It gets pretty warm,so we ran fans. Suggest keeping the door open. Our two 4 yr olds didn't even notice though. AC on both levels perfectly cooled the entire house. Upstairs king room- ceiling fan never worked. Didn't need as we run box fans anyway. No other real issues. Definitely give this place an option. We would rent again without question! Thanks for a great family vacation!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beach house was in a great location, south end of Waccamaw Drive with 1/4 of the traffic that you have if staying closer to the pier. Weather was good 1/2 the week, the other 1/2 was too cool for the beach but we found other things to do. The house was a great set up for us, however both upstairs bathrooms leaked into the bathrooms downstairs. We called, twice, and I don't think anything was done. Hopefully the people staying this week wont use them much, otherwise the downstairs bathroom ceilings may collapse.

Beware --- House is very Poorly Equipped

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beware....this house is poorly equipped. Looks like the owners equipped it with their leftovers, and not very many of those. Kitchen did not have enough silverware or glasses for 14 people. We counted 11 forks. Pots and pans were old, scratched and we would not use several of them. Additionally, there were only 2 pot-holders and both had holes. There were limited cooking and serving utensils. The writing on the coffee maker buttons was worn off, we just punched buttons until it turned on. There was no icemaker in the refrigerator. There was a broom, but no dust pan or vacumn. There were no hangers in any of the closets and no trashcans in any of the bedrooms (only in the bathrooms). The two downstairs bathrooms did not have toilet paper holders, and several bathroom locks were not functional. Several of the mattresses need to be replaced. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a locked owner’s closet and no dresser, nowhere to unpack clothes. Finally, the main downstairs sliding door needs to be replaced, it was difficult to open and almost the jumped the track multiple times. Garden City Realty tried twice to repair, but it was temporary. We ended using the sliding doors in one of the bedrooms, which was less than ideal. The supplies in this house do not match the furnishings or the house. I am a seasoned traveler and regularly rent vacation homes, this was the worst equipped home I have been in, particularly at this price. This was rented for a family reunion and this review is the consensus of the 5 couples that stayed in this house.

Reviewer Comments: Dirt and sand all over everything, food in the couches, food and dirt and dust under the couches and all the side and coffee and entertainment tables, absolutely nothing good to use in the kitchen (Teflon pans all scratched up and ready to poison everyone) I had to buy all new pots and pans just to be able to eat food in this house. There are fire hazards everywhere, outside dryer vent hasn’t been cleaned in some time, exposed wires, exposed electrical outlets. Lights coming on when they want to. Other lights not working. Toilets have never seen a scrub brush. Walkway to the beach caving in. Pillars rotting from the ground up. Sliding doors not opening or closing, screen doors falling off. Water damage just painted over. ( Reel ‘em Inn 1899 S Waccamaw) dust and rust had been painted over on the air intake covers. The air conditioning filters hadn’t been changed in lord knows how long, I have video of that, pictures of everything else as well. 6 years in a row I’ve rented from Garden City Realty and they take away the welcome package and leave two trash bags in its place? , the company gives you no reason to keep renting from them. I will not be back.

Reviewer Comments: We had a missing toilet roll roller, a broken curtain hold back fixture, broken long bench center leg, loose outlets in the kitchen, ants coming out of one kitchen outlet and caterpillars everywhere every day. Other small issues, the house keeping people did bring what we were missing but the overall maintenance on the house was lacking somewhat. The house was great and we enjoyed our stay but things could have been better for what we paid.

Everything was great except for the king size mattress on 1st floor Master Bedroom behind the kitchen. Slept in a hole. Large puddle by sliding glass door on 1st floor. Water comes in from rain. A metal roof under top deck may prevent water coming in and allow guests to sit outside during rain if it's not a bad storm.

Not only was it roomy, but the walk to the beach was extremely short. There were lots of beach toys and a terrific canapy that we put up on the beach every day. This is the first place we have stayed where no one could find anything wrong with it. We are definitely going to use this place again next year.

Reviewer Comments: This week was to be a return to a home we have stayed at before a few years earlier. Reading into the house description, it seemed as the owners had made substantial improvements. When we arrived, we did notice the new paint on the outside, and thought we would be good. Then we went inside and started up to the rooms, and noticed all the stains, and dirt that was all over them. While the location is nice, the house seems very small, and is in need of some more things. The toilet paper holders are in your armpits, and the sliding door handle in one of the rooms came off in my hand, but,this was fixed same day by maintenance. Some of the bedding was so uncomfortable, it was difficult to rest. The road to get to the house seems so very long and seems to be the second worse spot on waccamaw for flooding only behind the main intersection by the pier. The pictures need to be updated of the outside of the property. They do not show the new house next door, nor the much shortened walkway to the beach. While we cant help storm damage, it would be nice to know when you have people with walking issues. We will seek other accommodations for next year. This company is easy to deal with otherwise.

The beach was great, Not very busy in the area because your away from the pier. My wife and kids had never been to Garden City and now can't wait for next year. My wife and I have been toying with the fact of when kids graduate moving to the ocean and out of the mountains. Well done deal. We looked at houses before we left. Mountain life for Salt Life.. Beautiul View, Quiet Beach, House only Adequate

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The management company, maintenance, and housekeeping were all very friendly and did their best. The toilet stopped up & it took two trips by maintenance to fix it. The refrigerator spelled like fish. Housekeeping came twice, cleaned it thoroughly but it still was unusable for food. We had to buy ice chests & get ice daily. We re-cleaned the bathrooms. The ceiling & room fans were horribly dusty. My biggest concern was the house shook every time someone went up or came down the stairs or walked around upstairs. At first we thought it was the wind, but the house didn't move in the strongest of winds unless someone was walking on the stairs or in the upstairs. It was a little unnerving. So my recommendation is yes with reservations. I would use this management company again, but I'd pick a different house.
