Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was not in top condition. Boards on the dock were loose and warped which several people tripped over. There was a plumbing leak in a shower. The dishwasher fell out from under the counter when the door was opened. The porch was an absolute dirty mess when we arrived.

The only negatives for us was not being able to dock our boat there at the house because at low tide it was super shallow and dry and the washer and dryer being in a room downstairs with the air conditioning. Other than that we loved it! Oh yes, it was also super quiet which was awesome!

Great house, but dock not usable

When we arrived with our boat we didn't know what to do, luckily we had a friend who has a house up there and let us keep it there for a few days then we had to let it sit in the mud over during low tides and could only use our boat during the right tides. I wish the listing had mentioned it was not a deep water dock and that it was only tidal. The house and the pool were great! Everyone enjoyed their stay. The kitchen could use some updating as there was not even a pair of scissors in there. Location to the beach was excellent just a short walk!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself was fine. Little outdated The inlet was smelly and you couldn't fish Big disappoint !! The deck needs repair its rotted. We rented this house so we could fish . Not enough room for parking and golf carts . Will not rent again . Also GCR refused us the 20% off even though we reserved two days before sale was posted for dates we were there . Lightning knocked out air but it was repaired very quickly.

Reviewer Comments: We liked the house; great location to the beach;loved the back porch; the floors w/out carpet were very dirty from the day we walked in, Cindy’s y sweeping but still wet dirty. The owner really needs to update the kitchen. Not only small but very outdated, drawers stick, only a hodge podge of utensils, plates, very few glasses, etc. pots and pans old and very worn. Refrigerator leaked; pool person did not come to clean till Wednesday am I think? Beds in the downstairs were horrible. I don’t mean to say this house was horrible cause it wasn’t and we enjoyed our week but needs major updates.

GREAT VACATION!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved Rucker Cottage! Quiet little corner of the street. Clean upon arrival and had no real issues during our stay. Pool night light was out but fixed within a couple of hours after we called the next day. It was perfect for our group of 12. Comfortable beds and plenty of space when everyone was moving about the house at one time. Took about 30 seconds to walk to the beach access. The inlet view from the big screen porch was beautiful every morning/evening and a favorite hang out for everyone. Pool was a big plus with the teenagers this year. Separate outside entrance to the downstairs bedrooms was really nice. I would recommend adding a baby gate for the staircase in case renters have little ones. The dishwasher and refrigerator could use an update and the pots and pans are quite worn, BUT clean and usable for what we needed. We will definitely consider this property in the future! After years of rentals with GC, this has been our favorite!

Reviewer Comments: overall our stay was awesome. we were early on the day of arrival, which was fine, but cleaning crew showed up at 1:45 p.m. and was done at 3:45. not happy about the job they did. once all the family got in we were excited just to be together. rooms were nice and the outside deck was so nice to sit on, in the morning with coffee and the evening with drinks. very family friendly. the neighbor hood was also family friendly with children playing in the pools nightly, pool looks small but wasnt a big factor after all. the only thing that was a little rough was the smell from the back dock when the tide would go out.. thank you for a wonderful memory ...

Reviewer Comments: the beach house was dirty thing were broken chair list a screw dirty kitchen closet door was of which we fixed dishwasher didnt work spray head was not screwed on which we fixed dryer did not heat well clothes took forever to dry the inside and back porch were filthy which we cleaned nice location basement bedrooms were filthy had **** roaches in basement refrigerator door shelves broke couldn't put any thing on them had rats and mice inthe yard fans and air vents are filthy we had a good time at the beach and in the pool but kitchen is to small for cooking a big meal not enough bowls with lids just needs more of the right kind of dishes wvery time any maintenance came they never took care of the hose just not good maintenance or cleaning crew
