“We had an excellent stay at Villa Orquidea and still had more places on our list after a week in Merida. Our hosts Griselda, Sonia & Denise were very helpful with ideas for restaurants, things to see and private drivers. There are so many good restaurants! Breakfast was delightful including home-made banana bread, though we mostly ate light. ”

“A peaceful, relaxing oasis with a beautiful pool/ courtyard area and comfortable rooms decorated in a traditional style. The homemade breakfasts were incredible and more than substantial. Easy walk to town center, shopping and restaurants (but without the noise of the city). George, Sarah and Aaron were always available and very helpful. Highly recommend doing a food tour at the local market (near Plaza Grande) for better food at a fraction of the price of the touristy restaurants. Also enjoyed……

“The accommodations were wonderful, as was the staff. They were some of the most gracious people that I've ever met. The owner wrote me a beautiful note welcoming me, and it was made even better with the sweet treats that she provided me from her bakery. I will always stay at the Tree House Hotel when in Mérida. The customer service rivals any of the big hotels. They even remembered that I liked bacon. Sounds insignificant but it meant a lot to me. Stay, you'll thank me later. 💕”

“Our favourite hotel in Merida and one of our favourites anywhere. Not a resort like hotel with large facilities, but a beautifully designed boutique hotel with a cool rooftop that includes a small pool dipping pool and a bar. Unfortunately this last time the bar area was under renovation and out of order, but the hotel made it up to us by comping us delicious breakfasts and one lunch by the dipping pool (for my wife). “Très bel hôtel, le design est sublime! Les déjeuners sont très bons, mais le choix du forfait déjeuner inclus est très restreint et n’inclut même pas le lait pour ton café. En général ce fut un séjour très plaisant, mais sincèrement, j’ai déjà eu meilleur service ailleurs pour un 5 étoiles, rien d’épatant, mais très bien quand même.”
