We stayed for one night. A quick getaway from Charlotte. We paid $209 for the room, which is too much, but it’s Spring Break, so it is what is is.
The location is very charming. Really doesn’t even feel like you are in Myrtle Beach - which I consider a huge plus. The view is just stunning. Just wide unaltered ocean views. Although the hotel is across the street from the beach, the walk to the water is actually closer than some places on the beach.
The hotel itself is clearly old, but has been rather nicely renovated. The exterior could still use some love, t compared to many older MB properties, it’s nice. The room itself was pretty okay. It clearly had been renovated in the somewhat recent past. The key is that I’m not sure it’s being maintained maybe as well as the photos show. Properties in MB (esp on the low end of the price spectrum) are used hard. The room had some missing tile trim, the chair upholstery has some stains, etc. With that said, the shower was perfect and had awesome water pressure. The beds were comfy and the sheets smelled clean.
The staff we encountered were all very nice and this feels like a locally owned property that someone actually cares about so I liked that. I think for a very short stay this place works. I would not think this would be a long term stay for me.
