Needs more than an update

The location was stunning and the unit was clean. However only one of 6 main windows worked. We had paper blinds we had to maneuver to see the view, and most especially the upholstered furniture wasn't fit to sit on. We put a blanket over the couch so we could use it. If you are going to offer a place to rent there should be minimal standards you adhere to. Ripped and stained furniture, holes in blankets should not be the standards. Lastly you might want to change the air filter.

Some repairs needed

This condo has an amazing view and convenient access to the beach and pool. There is no water hose at the access for the beach like most beaches I've ever been to have, so you have to enter the condo with Sandy feet each time. There were some small issues as reviewers have noted before, such as water damage in the back bathroom wall. But the major problem I think the homeowner/Peace vacations needs to address is the broken window in the master bedroom. It was literally taped close (which was doing nothing). I think someone tried to use wood glue as well. With windows in the unit not working it doesn't feel secure and I did try to let Peace Vacations know this during our stay. We never got an adequate response. It's quite expensive for this unit with all the repairs in dire need.

Not as expected

Peace Vacations was great to work with and the location and the view are great, but that's the end of what was expected. We are not the kind of people that expect perfection, but we would like accuracy and the whole story. It's on the second floor with only stairs to access. Not a problem for us but would be for others, especially if packing heavy. The condo has no direction or markings to tell you which doors you should enter. We arrived at night and after circling the entire building took a guess at which door was ours. The pictures must have been from when it was first built. The condo is run down with dirty old furniture that is hard as a rock. We had to cover the only couch with a sheet to sit on it because it was so dirty and stained. Stains on the ceilings and walls. Beds were old, hard, and uncomfortable. The largest and nicest bedroom has twin beds. The king and queen beds are in much smaller bedrooms. The queen room was very warm with only 1 vent, but the living room was bone chilling cold. Very uneven air flow throughout. Only 1 tv in the condo, none in the bedrooms. There were bugs in the condo, but we do expect some of that in the south. If you are the type of vacationers that don't spend any time in the condo, then this is priced right and livable. If you expect comfort and clean, this is not for you.

Overall, pretty good. One of the windows came off the tracks when we tried to open it and the crank handle broke, so… Not that big of a deal for us but obviously it was “well used” I would say. Garage flooded because the drains haven't been cleared so it was unusable. All of our beach gear was floating around down there. Again, not that big of a deal for us but just so you know. Thank you.

Accommodations on the inside were fine and adequate. The outside of the building was not very well maintained; needed painting on staircase and the carpet. On the stairs had never been swept or cleaned. We were very disappointed that the pools were not ready for Memorial Day.

comfortable condo for a group of friends

Enjoyed gathering with friends for a weekend in this small ocean view condo. The views are the best part of this condo. Would rent again.

Ocean side stay!

This condo was the perfect stay for what I needed. Unit was the perfect size for 6 people. We felt that the property was clean and well equipt. There is no balcony but the views from the window are perfect! We would stay here again.

Office ladies extremely helpful with small house repairs needed.Not so good:no outside water source to wash off sand before entering home. Garage good for storage, small, shared and steep incline. Hooks for hanging towels would be a nice addition to utility hallway. Grilling in driveway requires 2 people to carry grill and gas tank, concerns about leaving cooling grill unattended in small area(children, neighbors and moving vehicles, golf carts). No place to eat outside, no back window to supervise. Nice to have a grill just need to understand time, effort involved in using. Overall great experience! Thank you!

Great overall stay. Very efficient check in process and easy to use temporary member number. My only constructive feedback would be the quality of cleaning; I would have expected better. There was visible mold throughout that periodic cleaning should address sand it did not appear that the vent filters had been cleaned for months. Better vacuuming and mopping would have made it perfect.

I felt like I was back in the 70's. The complex was due much needed upkeep. I expected our condo at DeBordieu to be nicer than any other random beach in SC. Our garage flooded and we had to fight off a snake outside our door.

The location was great but the unit itself and the building were completely run down. From the beds being so uncomfortable and creeky to the toilet seats being chipped to there not being any dish soap or cleaning items so you know that the serving dishes haven't been cleaned since there is no way to clean them. We were very disappointed with the accommodations this place definitely needs some New furniture and better care.

Needs a lot of work

The property is in a wonderful location. It needs a lot of repairs and maintenance. Windows are over 40 years old in the master bedroom. On cold evenings the temperature in the room got in the low 60's. I took 12 photos of issues that need repair and have sent them to the leasing agency. These issues were raised by others but were never addressed.

Enjoyed our stay

We loved the Condo location to the Beach Club and beach, very convenient. The overall condition was ok but we found black mold in several areas and I will be sending pictures in another e-mail.The over all conditions of the condo was good but under the beds and sofa's had not been clean all summer,I think. We had a three year old and the rugs in living area were not clean. I think the Condo would be better with our area rugs. I owned a rental house in Litchfield Beach for 18 years and thoroughly cleaned the house twice a year.I had hardwood floors so that things could be cleaned easily. Also there were two upright vacuums but were not good for tile floors. One of the vacuums was very hard to push. A canister vacuum would be much better.

This unit has not been well maintained. It wasn't cleaned properly when we arrived. Sand and hair on the floors, a used washcloth and old soap in one of the bathrooms, lamp shade broken in the bedroom with twin beds. There is black mold in the skylight. The wall in the dining area is bulging. The stairway up to the unit is dark and dirty. It's very cramped. You have to turn sideways to go between some of the furniture. Really not worth the money charged for the week. We would not consider renting again. Great view of the ocean but again NOT worth it!
