"The only thing that lets this hotel down is having to check yourself in and out. It never feels as welcoming when you are expected to deal with a machine when you have staff standing at the desk doing nothing unless you need help. No thank you for staying with us - just a machine telling you you have checked out. Everything else was spot on and comfortable - the free daily snacks, drinks and rice dinner was appreciated. The champagne was particularly nice😀"

"I enjoyed my stay at Soki Kanazawa. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room was very clean and nicely laid out. The restaurant in the hotel serves great Japanese breakfasts and the dinner Chef's kaiseki is fabulous. The restaurant staff is very good too. The location was ideal for my 4 night stay in Kanazawa. The only suggestion I have is for more lighting to be set up over the cabinet, refrigerator, counter area. That area is quite dark at night "

"The hotel was surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of pretty busy areas. The location is amazing as it’s only a five minute walk to both Omicho street market and Kanazawa M’Za."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa. It’s within 15-20mins walking distance of all Kanazawa’s main sites, and the hotel’s onsite onsen is great - especially after a long day sightseeing. The staff were kind and the breakfast was great. The only criticism is the check-in process - they made all clients wait until 1500 on the dot to check-in regardless of whether rooms were ready or not. If I could give a score for check-in, it would be very low. Other than that, I’d recommend this hotel for your stay in Kanazwa. "

"We had a fantastic stay at Wat Hotel & Spa Hida Takayama and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Takayama. The location is super convenient—just a short walk from the station and within easy reach of the old town, which made exploring really easy. The rooms were surprisingly spacious (especially compared to typical Japanese hotels), very clean, and incredibly comfortable. One of the highlights was definitely the onsen and spa facilities. They were beautifully maintained, relaxing, and such a nice way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. I also loved the option of private baths—it made the experience feel even more special. A really standout moment for us was arriving to find a thoughtful honeymoon setup in our room, including a handwritten-style card, flowers, and balloons. It was such a lovely surprise and made us feel genuinely welcomed and celebrated—such a special touch that we didn’t expect. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, and everything felt very well organised. The breakfast had a good mix of Japanese and Western options and was a great way to start the day. Overall, this hotel offers amazing value for money with great facilities, comfort, and location. We’d absolutely stay here again!"
